A former resident of St. Joseph, Mrs. Fowler lived in Vicksburg.

Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, La., has charge of arrangements.

Wiltina Hamlin Jackson

Services for Wiltina Hamlin Jackson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morning Star Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jackson died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at her home. She was 71.

A graduate of Bowman High School and Hinds Community School of Nursing, Mrs. Jackson was a retired nurse from The Street Clinic. She was a member of Morning Star Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “A.C.” Jackson; her parents, Sandy and Ebbie Johnson Hamlin; and a brother, Sandy Hamlin Jr.

She is survived by three sons, Carl Jackson of Port Gibson and Franklin “Larry” Jackson and James “Jimmy” Jackson, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Renata Drake of Littleton, Colo., and Frances “Woodie” Jackson and Evelyn “Babs” Hall, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Frank Hamlin of Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends including Eugene Walker of Vicksburg.

Patsy Sibley

Patsy Sibley died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Sibley had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years as a rural letter carrier. She was a member of the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Maggie House Bliss.

Survivors include her husband, H.C. Sibley of Vicksburg; a daughter, Carla Sibley Arnold of Vicksburg; a brother, Frank Bliss of Edwards; three sisters, Ruby Krueger of Vicksburg, Mabel Pharington of Memphis and Clara Bobbitt of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a grandchild, Jessieann Arnold of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Winkler officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Casey McNemar, Corey McNemar, Robbie Sibley, Arron Bliss, Mike Bliss and Darron Bliss.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Lee Voulters, Phillip Scurria, Daniel Dare, Susan Chiarito and Lane Clower and the U.S. Postal Service rural letter carriers.

Richard Crofton Sloan

EUTAW, Ala. Richard Crofton Sloan died Friday, May 21, 2004, in Alabama. He was 81.

Born in Starkville to Rollin Jay and Marianne Crofton Sloan, Mr. Sloan was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a Coast Guard veteran, having served in World War II.

He was a civil engineer at Waterways Experiment Station and a vestryman and warden at Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, in Vicksburg. He was a resident of Eutaw, Ala.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Sloan Rhodes; and a brother, Donald Sloan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Bayer Sloan of Eutaw; two daughters, Rebecca Sloan Satterfield of Marietta, Ga., and Frances Sloan McRae of Madison, Miss.; two sons, Richard Crofton Sloan Jr. of Tupelo and the Rev. John McKee Sloan of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Virginia Sloan Malone of LaGrange, Ga.; two brothers, Rollin Jay Sloan of Jasper, Ga., and James Thomas Sloan of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Boligee, Ala., with the Rev. Phillip Bennett officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors in Demopolis, Ala.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Eutaw or to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Boligee.
