Sidney Howard

Sidney Howard died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, La. He was 80.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Howard was the son of the late Willie and Missoura Howard. He retired from the Navy as a construction worker and was a member of Mount Calvary M.B. Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnnie Howard, Willie Howard Jr. and Robert Howard; and two sisters, Rosie Armstrong and Thelma Robinson.

Survivors include a son, Moses L. Howard of Tacoma, Wash., and two sisters, Emma L. Sellers and Edmonia Robinson, both of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Mary Bardwell Kaiser

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. Mary Bardwell Kaiser died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in Williamsburg, Va. She was 87.

A former resident of Vicksburg and Natchez, Mrs. Kaiser lived in Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Kaiser; her parents, C.C. and Elizabeth Randle Bardwell; and two sisters, Evelyn Bardwell Long and Cecile Bardwell Brown.

Survivors include a son, Dr. John Robert Kaiser of Williamsburg; a daughter, Marian Kaiser of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, William Bardwell of Starkville; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Street United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.

Raymond L. Meeks Sr.

Raymond L. “Bobby” Meeks Sr. died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 63.

Mr. Meeks was a member of Mount Pisgah M.B. Church, where he served on the Usher Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Josephine Roland Meeks; four brothers, Louis Meeks Jr., Oliver Meeks, Edgar Meeks and Theodore Meeks; and two sisters, Olivia Meeks Lindsey and Vera Meeks Lee.

Survivors include one son, Raymond L. Meeks Jr. of Vicksburg; one daughter, Jacquelyn Meeks of Vicksburg; two brothers, James H. Meeks and Newton Meeks, both of Vicksburg; four sisters, Dorothy Meeks and Lois Meeks Shields, both of Vicksburg, Gladys Meeks Hackett of Sacramento, Calif., and Josie B. Meeks Orr of Pomona, Calif.; and other relatives, including Melvina Jones of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Eddie Lee Robinson

NITTA YUMA Eddie Lee “Toot” Robinson died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Delta Regional Medical Center. He was 67.

A farm worker, Mr. Robinson was a resident of Nitta Yuma.

He is survived by his wife, Mosezetta Robinson of Nitta Yuma; four sons, Otis Tucker, Michael Robinson, Daniel Robinson and Eddie Dean Robinson, all of Flint, Mich.; three daughters, Joyce Dunson, Lavernne Mordica and Horrace Jean Higginbotham, all of Flint; two brothers, L.C. Robinson of Greenville and West Charles Robinson of Gary, Ind.; one sister, Ethel Titus of Gary; 34 grandchildren; and other relatives, including Charles Robinson of Hollandale and Rosie Sanders of Nitta Yuma.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of the Cross M.B. Church in Nitta Yuma with Johnnie Mackin officiating. Burial will follow at Nitta Yuma Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
