Rosetta Demby

Rosetta Demby died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

She was a member of Locust Grove M.B. Church.

Mrs. Demby was preceded in death by her parents, Tyree Banks Sr. and Mary Brown Banks; and two brothers, Tyree Banks Jr. and Oscar “Bill” Banks.

She is survived by her husband, William L. Demby Sr. of Haltom, Texas; one son, William L. Demby Jr. of Port Gibson; one daughter, Patricia Demby of Vicksburg; six sisters, Maggie Thomas and Kathleen Demby of Vicksburg; Frances Norwood of Terry; Mary Sue Carter, Kathryn Cummins and Gladys Hurens, all of Jackson; and seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Locust Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.

Annie Mae Lane

Services for Annie Mae Lane will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Vicksburg Municipal Auditorium with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at W.H Jefferson Funeral Home from noon to 6 p.m. today.

Mrs. Lane died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at her home. She was 65.

She was employed at Sunshine Laundry Mat. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Earl and Mary Lillian Williams Brown; three brothers, Willie Earl Brown, William Brown and Walter Brown; and a sister, Rosie Lee Brown.

She is survived by three sons, Herbert Lane and Ronald Lane, both of Vicksburg, and Clarence Lane of Clinton; a daughter, Renett Williams of Vicksburg; five brothers, Nathaniel Brown of Vicksburg, Lawrence Greer of Marbury, Md., David Brown of South Holland, Ill., Robert Greer of Dalton, Ill., and Charles Brown of Chicago; a sister, Christine Townsend of Birmingham, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Monroe and Alice Williams of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Alma Neal

HOUSTON, Texas Alma Neal died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 43.

A former resident of Claiborne County, Miss Neal lived in Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Neal.

Survivors include her mother, Jewell Tarleton of Port Gibson; two brothers, Donald Ross and Robert Neal Jr., both of Port Gibson; five sisters, Jewel Pittman of New Orleans, Gloria Neal and Patricia Neal, both of Dallas, Texas, and Helen Neal-Page and Angelia Ross, both of Port Gibson; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mountro Grove M.B. Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Horace McBride officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Monday until the service at the church.
