Gary Lynn Brock
CRYSTAL SPRINGS Gary Lynn Brock died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at his home. He was 49.
A native and lifelong resident of Crystal Springs, Mr. Brock had been a heavy equipment mechanic.
He is survived by three brothers, Clyde Burell Jr. of Channel View, Texas, and Rodney Brock and Herman Stevenson, both of Vicksburg; and two sisters, Sheila Burell and Cindy Corbin, both of Slidell, La.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.
Visitation will be from 10 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Gerald E. Carter Sr.
GAUTIER Gerald E. “Jerry” Carter Sr. died Monday, July 12, 2004, at his home in Gautier. He was 67.
A former resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Carter was retired from BFI of Mississippi. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Short Carter.
Survivors include his father, Clarence Edwin Carter of Vicksburg; two sons, Gerald Edwin Carter Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and John Martin Carter of Brandon; a brother, Jack Carter of Hattiesburg; a sister, Helen Lofton of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with the Rev. Brad Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Springs Cemetery in Perry County.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the service at the funeral home.
Henry Henderson
GULFPORT Henry Henderson died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at his home in Gulfport. He was 63.
Mr. Henderson was a member of St. James Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Bell and James Henderson; four brothers, Randolph Henderson, Sherman Henderson, Lietuntant Henderson and James Henderson; and two sisters, Rosie Lee Henderson and Lucinda Hyder.
Survivors include his wife, Evelina Henderson of Gulfport; three daughters, April Brown, Roxanne Henderson and Annie Henderson, all of Gulfport; a son, Henry Henderson Jr. of Gulfport; two brothers, Isaac Henderson of Vicksburg and William Henderson of Kansas City, Kan.; five sisters, Annie Bell Derby of Port Gibson, Cora Lee Kelly of Vicksburg, Mary Lee Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Estella Wiley and Luella Moore, both of Kansas City; a grandson; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Hartwell Funeral Home in Gulfport has charge of arrangements.
David McDonald Sr.
TALLULAH David McDonald Sr. died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, La. He was 79.
A resident of Tallulah, Mr. McDonald was a draftsman and a civil engineer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nola M. McDonald.
Survivors include two sons, David McDonald of Bayou Vista, La., and James “Bodie” McDonald of Tallulah; two daughters, Judy K. McKnight of Tallulah and Jane Grady of Sondheimer; a brother, Frank McDonald of Bedford, Texas; five sisters, Marjorie Henry of Angleton, Texas, Erna Jean Crowson of Shreveport, La., Ruth McDonald of Tendal, La., Patsy Antley of Waverly, La., and Sarah Ann Gillium of Crockett, Texas; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Raborn officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Grady, Steven Grady, Jennifer Broussard, Billy McDonald, John Antly and Brian Gagneax.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Robertson, Richard Antley and Dean Broussard.
