Services for Oliver “Teetie” Walker will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul M.B. Church in Bovina with the Rev. Tyrone Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be all day Friday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

Mr. Walker died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at his home. He was 70.

Born in Warren County, he was a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church. He was a retired heavy-equipment operator at Anderson Tully.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Berta Walker; a son, Columbus “Van” Walker; a daughter, Windolyn Evette Walker; two brothers, George Walker Sr. and Tom Walker; and two sisters, Joanna Tribble and Truvirl Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Gracie Walker of Vicksburg; five sons, Oliver Walker Jr., Elvis Walker, Hal Walker, Ricky Johnson and Cedric Johnson, all of Vicksburg; a daughter, Gloria McGowan of Aurora, Ill.; two sisters, Ledora Steele of Vicksburg and Betty Harden of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Philip Edward Witters Jr.

Philip Edward Witters Jr. died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 35.

Mr. Witters was born in Kalamazoo, Mich. He graduated in 1987 from Portage Central High School in Portage, Mich. He received bachelor of science degrees in exercise science and anatomy and physiology and a master of science degree in physical therapy. He was a physical therapist at United Rehab.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bud and Millie Witters, and a brother, Paul Witters.

He is survived by his wife, Kelle Kurtz Witters of Vicksburg; two daughters, Juliana Witters and Chloe Faith Witters, both of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Lee Catherine Kurtz of Vicksburg; a stepson, Christopher Kurtz of Vicksburg; his parents, Philip E. Sr. and Sue Reynolds Witters of Portage; two sisters, Marcy Wujkowski of Lawton, Mich., and Holly Eshlaman of Vicksburg, Mich.; and his maternal grandparents, Bill and Marge Reynolds.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Parker, David Stanley, Michael Headrick, Bobby Jo Fuller, Ricky Barber, David Tomer, Shawn Williams, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Martin Newcomb, Rick Eshlaman, Pat Wujkowski, and the staffs of United Rehab and South Mississippi Home Health.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
