Thomas Davis

Services for Thomas “Tom” Davis will be at 2 p.m. today at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris “Trey” Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Mr. Davis died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home. He was 81.

Born in Richton, Mr. Davis had lived in Vicksburg for 34 years. He was retired from LeTourneau Inc. and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Martha Roberts Davis; and three brothers, Woodrow Davis, Wayne Davis and Edward Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Audie “Sis” Davis of Vicksburg; a daughter, Connie Southerland of Vicksburg; a son, Robert “Mike” Davis of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mae Law of Pensacola, Fla., and Myla Travis of Rosedale; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Southerland, Branan Southerland, Chad Stuart, Chris Cioletti, Ned Travis, John Roden, Billy Roden and Charlie Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of South Mississippi Homecare and Hospice and Dr. Daniel Edney.

James Wilburn Mason

OAK GROVE James Wilburn Mason died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his home in Oak Grove. He was 89.

Mr. Mason was born in Brookhaven and had been a longtime resident of Oak Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Rosie Williamson Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Lena Mason of Oak Grove; two daughters, Linda Borden and Patsy Meredith, both of Oak Grove; one sister, Ruby Porter of Haughton, La.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Mike Ray officiating. Burial followed at Campbell Church Cemetery in Pioneer, La.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Robinson, Randy Gregory, Eddie Gregory, the Rev. Billy Castilaw, Jimmy Turner, Rusty Bennett and Eddie Ratcliff.

Honorary pallbearers were George Boyte, James Spec Gregory, Bud Moody and Dink Harrison.
