Johnny Earl

TALLULAH Johnny “Charcoal” Earl died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his home in Tallulah. He was 65.

Mr. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise Earl William and Frank Earl Sr.; three brothers, Frank Earl Jr., Lucious Earl and Herman Earl; and two sisters, Ernestine Earl and Vivian Earl Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Dean Earl of Tallulah; two sons, Johnny Earl Jr. of Eugene, Ore., and John Fitzgerald of Vicksburg; three daughters, Gail Carr Martin of Vicksburg and Anita Earl and Keshise Earl, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Addie Lee Earl Carter of Vicksburg, Pinkie Earl of New Orleans and Edna Earl Fields of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Beckwith Funeral Home in Tallulah has charge of arrangements.

Elliott Scott

Elliott “L” Scott died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 83.

A Vicksburg resident, Mr. Scott was an Army veteran of World War II and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Lee Buck Scott; a son, Joe Lee Scott; his parents, Mack and Geneva Scott; two brothers, James Scott and David Scott; and two sisters, Annie Bell Scott and Anna Johnson.

Survivors include three sons, Ellis Scott, James Bill Scott and Nathaniel Scott, all of Vicksburg; four daughters, Gloria Jean Scott and Betty Scott, both of Vicksburg, Ethel Mae Scott of Fayette and Hazel Scott of Richmond, Calif.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
