[9/1/04]Two men charged with capital murder in a fatal shooting on Fayette Street were denied bond Tuesday in Warren County Court by Judge Johnny Price.

Zachary Conner, 19, 127 Bazinsky Road, Apt. 210, the accused shooter, and Keon Hatchett, 17, 2907 Oak St., are suspects in the slaying of Christopher Cage, 44, 727 Adams St., Apt. 1, who was found by Vicksburg police at 12:04 a.m. on July 9 on Fayette Street near Cherry.

Conner and Hatchett are also charged with armed robbery and shooting into an occupied dwelling, District Attorney Gil Martin said.

A third suspect, Jamaal Bell, 20, 727 Adams St., faces the same charges and is also being held without bond, Martin said. Bell, however, has requested no similar hearing, Martin said.

Three other people also face charges in the case, all of being accessories after the fact to capital murder. They are Quintin Miles, 20, 1512 Jefferson St.; Jessie Watson, 23, 2823 Acadia St.; and Tashiba Williams, 19, 147 Elizabeth Circle.

Miles is free on $5,000 bond, and Watson is free on a $10,000 bond.

Williams was on probation when she was arrested. She remained in jail.
