Harlis Eugene Adams

OAK GROVE Harlis Eugene “Jack” Adams died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at West Carroll Care Center. He was 84.

Mr. Adams was a resident of Oak Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aline Adams; his parents, Sidney and Lucy Adams; a brother, R.L. Adams; and a sister, Nezzie Bowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou House of Oak Grove and Carolyn Meek of Monroe; a brother, Billy Adams of Monticello, Ark.; two sisters, Florence Whatley of Ruleville and Elizabeth Turner of Columbus; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Gayle Riles officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ted Paxton, Buford Bell, Jeff Sullivan, Rayburn “Pop” Crosby, Danny Trichell and Timmy Stampley.
