Charlotte Adams

Charlotte Adams died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 94.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church No. 4.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Adams; a brother, C.W. White; and a sister, Escline Mickey.

Survivors include a son, James Adams of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Sadie James of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Cedric Allen Jr.

Cedric Allen Jr., infant son of Cedric Allen Sr. and Angela Williams of Vicksburg, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lavern Allen.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, A’Perrian Smith; a sister, A’Terricka Smith; his maternal grandparents, Martha Williams and Melvin Cox, both of Vicksburg; paternal grandfather, Robert Curtis of Vicksburg; a stepgrandfather, Shelly Hill Sr. of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles, cousins.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Archie E. Averett Jr.

TALLULAH Archie E. Averett Jr. died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at his home in Tallulah. He was 55.

A farmer, Mr. Averett was a lifelong resident of Tallulah. He was a hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie E. Averett Sr., and three sisters, Doris Pruitt, Myrtle McDaniel and Carolyn Sue Averett.

He is survived by three brothers, Michael Averett and Glynn Averett, both of Tallulah, and Billy Earl Averett of Little Rock, Ark.; five sisters, Ann Wilson and Mildred Porter, both of Natchez, Wilma Whitaker of Tallulah, Pat Crews of Lake Providence and Jimmie Tucker of Dallas, Texas; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, La.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Clyde Edward Lang

PATTISON Clyde Edward Lang died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at his home. He was 75.

A native of Kemper County, Mr. Lang was a Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Illinois Central Railroad and Southern Pacific Cotton Belt Railroad. He moved to Pattison in 1968, where he worked as a farmer and a custom tree planter and owned a trucking business. He was a member of Pattison Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde H. Lang; his mother, Bertha Rhyne Shelton; and two sisters, Jean Williams Pruitt and Doris Cazzata.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Loyd Lang of Pattison; four brothers, Wylie D. Lang, Robert C. Lang and Carter C. Lang, all of West Point, and Walter H. Lang of Jackson; two sisters, Louise Warren of Scooba and Marie Sanschagrin of Anchorage, Alaska.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Gene Loyd, Wayne Carter, Duane Pierce, William Earl Loyd, Vern Loyd and Paul C. Carr Jr.

Janet Gail Burch Lenard

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. Janet Gail Burch Lenard died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, in Lawrenceville, Ga. She was 47.

Mrs. Lenard was a resident of Lawrenceville.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Lenard of Lawrenceville; two sons, Craig Stopper of Winder, Ga., and Dustin Lenard of Lawrenceville; a stepson, Jason Lenard of Farmerville, La.; her parents, Joe and Lucille Burch of Oak Grove; a brother, Randy Burch of Oak Grove; a sister, Sandy Moore of Oak Grove; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home with the Revs. Annie Mae Farmer and Clifford Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Red Wing Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Christy, T.G. Kimball, Marshall Ridings, Gene McGaha, G.A. McGaha and Paul Eaton.
