Annie L. Bliss
Annie L. Bliss died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro, La. She was 81.
A native of Hollandale, Mrs. Bliss had been a longtime resident of Vicksburg before moving to Chatham, La., two years ago. She was a member of Caney Lake Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Bliss Sr.; a son, Noah Bliss Jr.; a brother, Clarence Lick; and a sister, Mildred Keith; and her parents, Andrew and Mildred O’Conner Lick.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Bliss of Vicksburg and James Bliss of Mendenhall; a daughter, Norma B. Burnett of Chatham; a brother, Andrew F. Lick of Bay St. Louis; four sisters, Virginia Ramirez of Bay St. Louis, Docia Lagrange of Slidell, Bonnie Watkins of McNeill and Martha Taylor of Franklin, La.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Jessie Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

PORT GIBSONDouglas Lee Renfroe Jr.
KILLEEN, Texas Douglas Lee Renfroe Jr. died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in Killeen, Texas. He was 25.
A native of Morgan City, La., Mr. Renfroe had been a resident of Killeen for the past three years. He was discharged from the Army 3rd Signal and attended Texas Central College. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sgt. Michelle Renfroe of Killeen; a daughter, Kaitlyn Renfroe of Killeen; two sons, Austin Chapman of Ville Platte, La., and Christian Renfroe of Killeen; his parents, Douglas L. Renfroe Sr. of Raymond and Deborah Askegren of Boulder, Colo.; his stepfather, Craig Askegren of Boulder; his stepmother, Sheryl Renfroe of Raymond; a brother, Luke Thomas Renfroe of Raymond; two sisters, Mary R. Matthews of Boulder and Martha Oliva of Erath, La.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bates, Eddie Byrd, Jim Bertelman, Shawn Tinsley, Johnny George and Dean Trawick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Moody and Arthur Kyles.
Burnett Crump Sanders
UTICA Services for Burnett Crump Sanders will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Westhaven Funeral Home in Utica. Burial will follow at the Mount Wade M.B. Church Cemetery in Terry.
Miss Sanders died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 65.
Miss Sanders was a resident of Utica and was a retired aluminum metal inspector for Reynolds Metals in McCook County, Ill.
Nellie Smith
Nellie Smith died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 91.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Evan Smith and Henry Shields; and a sister, Willie B. Cartwright.
Survivors include two sisters, Louella Brown and Virginia Butler, both of Vicksburg; a stepsister, Mary Dorsey-Dotson of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including Flora Cartwright, Velma W. Brown, Lubertha Crawford, Alice Smith, Melissa Shields, J.D. Brown, Percy Brown and Jimmy Brown, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Freddie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Christian Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.
