Little Dee Petties

Little Dee Petties died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at River Region West. He was 66.

Mr. Petties was a resident of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hattie Petties; and two daughters, Gladys B. Richards and Hattie M. Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary W. Petties; three daughters, Loriene Lyons and Cleo Thomas, both of Vicksburg, and Priscilla Smith of Natchez; and two sons, Little Dee Petties and Otis J. Petties, both of Vicksburg.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Wauhella Rogers

NATCHEZ Wauhella “Wally” Rogers died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at her home in Natchez. She was 82.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Lawson, Ark., to Mathew Jackson and Jessie Mae Gillespie Cox. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was in the Lydia Sunday school class for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. “Ab” Rogers, and a twin sister, Juanita Wimberly.

Survivors include a son, Doyle Rogers of Redwood and Charlotte Schroeder of Atlanta; six grandchildren, including Babbette Skipper of Vicksburg; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Helen Rodriquez of Natchez and John Wimberly of Wilmington, N.C.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel in Natchez with Dr. Judson W. Hurt and the Rev. Dann Wynn officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Rogers, Will Schroeder, Andy Schroeder, Brett Schroeder, John Wimberly and Hayden Skipper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Wimberly and Jason Wimberly.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Natchez or to Horizon Hospice, 140 N. 5th St., Suite B, McComb, MS 39648.

Stanley Paul Watkins Jr.

AMORY Stanley Paul Watkins Jr. died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. He was 29.

A native of Houston, Miss., Mr. Watkins lived in Vicksburg for 17 years and had been a resident of Amory for the past year. He attended Vicksburg schools, where he played football.

He worked as a truck driver for Action Industries. He was a member of Valley Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Janie McCammon and Paul Watkins.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Lynn Thompson Watkins of Amory; a son, Jon Paul Watkins of Amory; four daughters, Erin Paige Watkins of Laurel and Savanna Paige Street, Kayla Brooke Kyle and Mallory Dawn Watkins, all of Amory; his parents, Stanley Paul Watkins Sr. and Melissa Jane Brown Bradberry, both of Houston; a stepfather, George Reynolds of Pontotoc; two brothers, Christopher Shane Reynolds and Mitchell Reynolds, both of Houston; and his grandparents, Katherine Laverne McCammon and Jane Watkins, both of Houston, and Jack Brown of Pontotoc.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with the Rev. Mutt Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Crenshaw Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thompson, Chris Crenshaw, Willie Lewis, Austin Jordan, Dustin Griggs, Kenny Bryant, Robbie Lynch and Troy Stinnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy McDuff, Charlie Peeples and Charlie Gray.
