Jereline K. Flowers

PORT GIBSON Services for Jereline K. “Shorty” Flowers will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morning Star M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Jefferson County with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from noon Sunday until the service at the church.

Mrs. Flowers died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 77.

A native of Boyle, Mrs. Flowers was a resident of Port Gibson. She was a member and former usher at Morning Star M.B. Church, where she served with the Baptist Aid. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Flowers; one daughter, Bobbie Jean Cook; a brother, Jerry King Jr.; and her parents, Jerry King Sr. and Annie Diew.

Survivors include Betty Sykes, whom she reared, of Chicago; one daughter, Georgia Ann King of Port Gibson; an adopted daughter, Kennicqua H. Flowers of Port Gibson; two brothers, Robert King of Carlisle and George D. King of Utica; a sister, India Mae Wright of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Andrea B. Jackson

Services for Andrea B. Jackson will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church on Bowmar Avenue with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

Ms. Jackson died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at her home. She was 40.

A Warren County native, she was a 1982 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from Alcorn State University in 1986. She was employed at Skytel in customer service and was a member of First Baptist Church on Lane Street.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Brown Sr.; one brother, John Walter “Jake” Brown; one sister, Pearlie Mae Jones; her maternal grandmother, Pearlie Williams; and her paternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Lou Brown.

Survivors include a son, Courvoisier O. Jackson of Jackson; a daughter, Venchinza P. Jackson of Jackson; her mother, Hester Williams Brown of Vicksburg; five brothers, Henry Brown Jr. of Chicago and Charlie Brown, Lee Dudley Brown, Michael Carl Brown and Floyd Ray Brown, all of Vicksburg; four sisters, Elnora Brown, Linda Kaye Brown and Janice L. Brown, all of Vicksburg, and Sharolyn Faye Young of Jackson; her maternal grandfather, Henderson Williams of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

James McNair

James McNair died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 63.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert McNair Sr.; and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Norford McNair of Vicksburg; his mother, Marie Sutton of Vicksburg; six daughters, Janice Woodson, Erma Woodson, Charlene Davis, Bridgette Norford, Jennifer Norford and Courtney Norford, all of Vicksburg; two sons, Jason Norford and Tyrone Davis, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Ledale Thompson of Vicksburg, Robert McNair Jr. of Pattison and Felix Jackson of Biloxi; two sisters, Effie Harris of Buffalo, N.Y., and Lucille Fells of Lorman; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Alton Temple

MEXICO CITY Alton Temple, formerly of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, in Mexico City. He was 72.

Mr. Temple is survived by his wife, Juanita Temple; one daughter, Dee Shultz of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Mary Ann Manning of Santa Monica, Calif.; two brothers, Jerry Temple of Westchester, Calif., and Bobby Temple of Vicksburg; and a granddaughter, Alexa Shultz.

Services were in Mexico.

Walter Warren Wigley

YAZOO CITY Services for Walter Warren Wigley will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coxburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Frank Gerald officiating. Burial will follow at Coxburg Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Wigley died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Yazoo City. He was 86.

Born in Holmes County, Mr. Wigley was a resident of Yazoo City. He was a member of Coxburg United Methodist Church and was a retired newspaper carrier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Columbus and Nancy Edwards Wigley.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Wigley of Yazoo City; four sons, W. David Wigley of Vicksburg, Billy Wigley of Lexington, Larry Wigley of Florence and Woody Wigley of Hazlehurst; two daughters, Emily Miller of Springfield, Mo., and Mary Ann Hill of Yazoo City; two brothers, Noel Wigley and Mose Wigley, both of Lexington; three sisters, Nancy Ellison of Byram, Pauline Carney of Madison and Betty Sue Johnson of Little Rock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
