Frances Alexander

Frances Alexander died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 80.

Mrs. Alexander was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and a domestic worker.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan Alexander of Rock Island, Ill.; a daughter, Sarah Jackson of Vicksburg; three grandsons, Freddie Matthew Parson, Dewayne Jackson Parson and Elisah Don Parson, all of Vicksburg; two great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Ellen Williams of Springfield, Mass.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

John William Mosley

TALLULAH John William Mosley died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at his home in Tallulah He was 81.

Mr. Mosley was born in Jacksonville, Ala., and was a World War II veteran of the Army. He was a member of the American Legion and Parkview Baptist Church. He was a retired cross-country escort driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pinkney Marvin and Julia Mosley of Blue Mountain, Ala.; three brothers and six sisters.

Mr. Mosley is survived by his wife, Tinny Whitley Mosley; a daughter, Hazel Mosley Stampley of Tallulah; a son, Robert Mosley of Tallulah; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Coody, Mike Price Jr., Jessie Brewer Jr., Michael Freeman, Scott Whitley and Steve Whitley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Allen, Ronnie O’Neal and Dr. L.P. Neumann Jr.

Memorials may be made to Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah.

Lucy M. Powers

UTICA Lucy M. Powers died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 93.

Ms. Powers was a lifelong resident of Utica, where she was a retired bookkeeper for Hubbard Chevrolet Co. She was a member of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years and a member of the Utica Christian Church, where she was treasurer for more than 50 years.

She is survived by a sister, Ellen Newsome of Utica; a nephew, Frank Powers of Greenville; a niece, Judith Reynal of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and other nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Utica Christian Church with the Revs. Lucian Lee and Brad Hartzog officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be Allen Powers, Dale Powers, Mike Dickerson, John Dickerson, Denny Kitchens and Lee Herrin.

Honorary pallbearers will be elders of Utica Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to Utica Christian Church.
