Elizabeth H. Barfield
Elizabeth H. Barfield died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 72.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Barfield was a homemaker. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Barfield; and her parents, Harold and Pearl Haver.
Survivors include two sons, Walter A. Barfield of Olympia, Wash., and David A. Barfield of Madison; two brothers, J.H. Reeves of Summit and Robert Haver of Duncanville, Texas; a sister, Margie Foy of Southhaven; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Foy officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Foy, Thurston Foy, Bob Haver, Randy Haver, Alfred Barfield and Martin Hallman.

Lincoln Brown Sr.
Lincoln “Manny Boy” Brown Sr. died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.
Born in Holly Ridge, La., Mr. Brown had been a Vicksburg resident for 65 years. He retired from Waterways Experiment Station as a carpenter shop supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josie Jackson; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stewart Brown of Vicksburg; his father, Henry Brown Sr. of Bee Bayou, La.; one daughter, Donna Jackson of Vicksburg; three sons, Lincoln Brown Jr. and David E. Brown, both of Vicksburg, and Edgar Brown of Jackson; one brother, David E. Brown of Detroit; two sisters, Ola Mae Tennant and Shirley Brown, both of Rayville, La.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins, including Melba Barnes and Patricia Irwin of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at King Solomon M.B. Church.
Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at the church.
Tennant Funeral Home in Rayville has charge of arrangements.
Richard Ellis
PINEVILLE, La. Richard “Bo” Ellis died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Huey P. Long Hospital in Pineville, La. He was 46.
Born in Lake Providence, Mr. Ellis had been a resident of Monroe for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Ellis Sr.; and a brother, George F. “Bubba” Ellis Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Julia Clement Ellis of Monroe; five brothers, James Ellis and Matt Ellis, both of Kiln, Buddy Ellis of Lewisburg, Tenn., Johnny Ellis of West Monroe and Daniel Ellis of Monroe; four sisters, Genia Arthur and Sharon Kavanaugh, both of Vicksburg, Linda Jane Ellis of Monroe and Lynn Moravetz of Dallas, Ga.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Moulder officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Ellis’ brothers and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
John H. Elmore
Services for John H. “Elmore” Elmore will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. June Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Elmore died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 90.
A veteran of the Army, Mr. Elmore served in World War II. He retired from Valley Mills and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny O’Neal; two daughters, Rosemary O’Neal and Eliza O’Neal; and his parents, Jessie Elmore and Frances Floyd.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Phoenix Elmore of Vicksburg; two sons, Joseph O’Neal of Vicksburg and Charles Phoenix of Norfolk, Va.; four daughters, Beatrice Thomas, Florence Kiner, Willie Jane Williams and Juanita O’Neal, all of Vicksburg; and 60 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
William Leon Fulford
DELHI William Leon “Bill” Fulford died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi. He was 68.
Mr. Fulford was a Delhi resident.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Annie Herrington Fulford.
He is survived by his father, Alford F. Fulford of Delhi; two brothers, James Millard Fulford of Delhi and Raymond E. Fulford of Epps; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Waverly Baptist Church in Waverly, La., with the Revs. Charles Best and Lindle Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bush, Richard Skipper, Freddy Truelove, Mark Holland, Chris Beam, Ken Gibson, John Larry Goode and Arden Smith.
Earnest Lee Johnson
ROLLING FORK Earnest Lee Johnson died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 61.
Mr. Johnson was a resident of Rolling Fork.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Johnson of Rolling Fork; a son, Stacy Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mattie Johnson and Helen Thompson, both of Vicksburg, and Pearlean Caldwell of Indianola; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Cary with the Rev. Timothy Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in the Goose Lake community.
