Mary Brown

Mary Brown died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004. She was 86.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Triumph M.B. Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of House of Ruth Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie and Mary Clay Kelly; one son, A.C. Brown; and two sisters, Claudie B. Wallace and Isabell Jenkins.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Brown of Vicksburg; two sons, Robert Brown of Vicksburg and Freddie Brown of Jackson; three daughters, Ernestine Winters and Lola Derbo, both of Bloomington, Ind., and Delores Brannon of Vicksburg; 52 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Wilson C. Copes

TALLULAH Wilson C. Copes died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 87.

Born in Warden, La., and a resident of Madison Parish for 53 years, he was a retired foreman of the Federal Compress in Tallulah. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Wilson E. “Sonny” Copes of Tallulah and Glen T. Copes of Rayville; two sisters, Hazel Myers of St. Joseph and Elsie Edwards of Warden; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.

Pallbearers were Jerry Wayne Patrick, William Patrick, Rickey Patrick, Dan Copes, Kevin Collins and Paul Fortenberry. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.

Pauline Crout

Services for Pauline Crout will be at 2 p.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Raleigh. Burial will follow at North Raleigh Cemetery.

Mrs. Crout died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Crout retired from the Culkin Water District after 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.M. and Minerva Warren Frith.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Crout of Vicksburg; a brother, Otis Frith of Raleigh; and a sister, Jessie Grayson of Raleigh.

Walter Duckworth Jr.

ROLLING FORK Walter Duckworth Jr. died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 64.

Mr. Duckworth was a resident of Rolling Fork.

He is survived by his mother, Corine Duckworth of Rolling Fork; a son, Bobbie Lee Duckworth of Hawaii; two brothers, Juster Duckworth of Vicksburg and Daniel Duckworth of Rolling Fork; five sisters, Johnnie Neal Jones of Neptune, N.J., Betty J. Bell of Delta City, Walterine Wilkinson of Chicago and Marion Williams and Sherion Duckworth, both of Rolling Fork.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Salem M.B. Church with Elijah Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Duckworth Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
