Martha L. Phillips

UTICA Martha L. Phillips died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.
Born in Tallulah, Mrs. Phillips had been a resident of Utica for a number of years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Jenny Ruth Florence; her husband, John “Mickey” Phillips and a son, Ronnie Lewis Martin.
She is survived by a son, Will Roy Martin of Jackson; a daughter, Sherry Cessna of Utica; one brother, Lonnie “Brother” Florence of Utica; two sisters, Shirley Drake of Riverside, Calif., and Virginia Smith of Tishner, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with Tony Lalli officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred Cessna, Bill Cessna, Roy Cessna, Johnny Smith, Tim Smith and Chad Cessna.
Christine Sheffield
Christine Sheffield died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 93.
Mrs. Sheffield was born in Yazoo City and had been a Vicksburg resident most of her life. A former employee of The Fabric Center, she was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, George Sheffield.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Bobbye Sheffield of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, David Sheffield of Vicksburg and Lita Harker of Charlotte, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service.
Lora Stewart Zorn
Lora Stewart Zorn died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Zorn was born in D’Lo to the late John Oscar and Verta Blanche Mixon Stewart. She lived in Bay Minette, Ala., for a number of years and graduated from French Camp Academy. She was a retired seamstress.
Mrs. Zorn was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was a former member of the St. Aloysius Mothers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry K. Zorn Sr.; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Zorn; a brother, Astor Stewart; and one great-grandson, William Michael Shingleton.
Survivors include three daughters, Anita Z. Hossley, Marcia Gwynne Zorn and Frances Miller, all of Vicksburg; two sons, Henry K. Zorn Jr. of Fairfield, Conn., and George Francis Zorn of Ocean Springs; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with prayer service at 6:30.
Pallbearers will be Joseph L. Loviza, Matthew Hossley, Michael L. Piazza Jr., George F. Zorn Jr., Dr. W. Bruce Shingleton, James R. Hossley and Charles Miller.
