DeRIDDER, La. William Edward Charles died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital. He was 57.
Born in Dallas, Mr. Charles was a resident of DeRidder, La.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jean Charles of DeRidder; a daughter, Wendy Charles Jenuine of Weatherford, Texas; a son, Jack Edward Charles of Lafayette, La.; his parents, Jack “Charlie” Charles and Frances Anne Richardson Charles of Many, La., formerly of Vicksburg; one sister, Jacqueline Anne Charles of Baton Rouge; one brother, John Eugene Charles of Valencia, Calif.; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services were at 5 p.m. Monday at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many with James Tidwell and Mike McIntire officiating. Burial followed at Toledo Bend Church of Christ Cemetery in Many.
Helen Harvey Coulon
Helen Harvey Coulon died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison. She was 82.
Mrs. Coulon was born in Lumberton to the late Daniel P. and Bessie Jane Harvey. She was a former resident of Vidalia, La., and Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Coulon, and a brother, James Ray Harvey.
She is survived by a son, Edgar J. “Joe” Coulon Jr. of Brandon, formerly of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Sandra Coulon Price of Austin, Texas, and David Ray Coulon and Matthew Scott Coulon, both of Brandon; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez with David Warren officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home in Natchez.
Pallbearers will be David Coulon, Matt Coulon, Paul Price, Larry Bird, John Scott and Carl Hudson.

Carolyn D. Evans
Carolyn D. Evans died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 86.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and nurse’s assistant. She was a member of Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Evans; her parents, Joseph and Carrie Harrison Duncan; and two sisters, Louise Duncan Pierce and Eliza Duncan.
Survivors include a stepson, Terry Evans of Inglewood, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Bobbye Gibbs of Vicksburg; one brother, Jimmy “Buddy” Duncan; one sister, Estelle Warfield of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren, including her caregiver, Jacqueline Griffin; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
William George Holmes
MEMPHIS William George Holmes died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was 68.
Mr. Holmes was a resident of Memphis.
He is survived by a son, George Holmes of Newark, N.J.; five brothers, Chris Schlater of Memphis, D.J. Holmes of Joliet, Ill., Charles Konch of Houston, Texas, L.C. Holmes of Mound Bayou and Jamie Washington of Rolling Fork; four sisters, Betty Sandifer of Chicago, Jackie Tubwell of Vicksburg, and Alveria Smith and Velma Jordon, both of Houston; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at E.P. Baptist Church in Rolling Fork with Leonard C. Holmes officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.
Arie Lamb
ST. LOUIS, Mo. Arie Lamb died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Village North Retirement Center in St. Louis, Mo. She was 85.
A former Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Lamb moved to St. Louis in 2001. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Lamb, and a brother and four sisters.
Survivors include a sister, Martha Devine of Greenville, and other relatives including her niece and caregiver, Birdia Granberry of St. Louis.
