Charles H. Loch

Charles H. Loch died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

A native of Pitcairn, Pa., Mr. Loch was a longtime resident of Kittanning, Pa., and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 14 years. He was the son of the late Rev. Howard Franklin and Esther King Loch. He served in the Army and was a member of the U.S. Army Band.

Mr. Loch graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C., and was a professional registered engineer. He was a fellow in the Illuminating Engineering Society, receiving its Distinguished Service Award in 1999.

He retired in 1999 from Cooper Lighting. He was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, where he was in the Senior Choir and Men’s Breakfast Club.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia K. “Patty” Loch of Vicksburg; a daughter, Ann L. Fly of Pulaski, Tenn.; a son, Eric C. Loch of Louisville, Colo.; two sisters, Iona L. Siegel of New Providence, N.J., and Carolyn L. Allen of Naples, Fla.; one brother, Merle Loch of Warren, Mich.; five granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home and Saturday at the church’s Wesley Hall from 10:15 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Andy Szuwalski, Don Robey, Leo Boolos, Dr. Tom Moore, Johnny Sanders and Hugh Green.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Mahloch, Richard Cowart, Bill Anderson and members of Crawford Street United Methodist Church Senior Choir and Men’s Breakfast Club.

Marion Austin Palmer

Marion Austin Palmer died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.

Born in Morton to the late Julius and Minnie Stewart, Mr. Palmer was a longtime Vicksburg resident. He owned Palmer Mobile Home Repair and retired in 1996.

He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Buford Palmer, Clifton Palmer and Bobby Palmer.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Lynne Palmer of Vicksburg; one daughter, Mary Goodin of Vicksburg; four sons, David Palmer of Starkville and Tommy Palmer, Jeff Palmer and Doug Palmer, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Laura Hannah of Meridian; a brother, Rayford Palmer of Morton; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Kuhrman Cox, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, and the Rev. Marvin Denton, former pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Goodin, Christopher Goodin, Jimmy Ray Palmer, Kelly Hannah, Buford Palmer Jr. and Julius Palmer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Percy Worley, George Stevens, Joe Addy, Danny Harrelson, John Hood, Butch Newman, Phillip Brown, D.D. Brown and Harlow Taylor.

Corey Rawlings

Services for Corey Rawlings will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Living Word Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.

Mr. Rawlings died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, from injuries received in a car accident. He was 23.

Mr. Rawlings was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Francis Rawlings Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Katie Rawlings; and his maternal grandmother, Alva Meekins Meeks.

Survivors include his mother, Willette Meekins Rawlings of Vicksburg; a daughter, Zarkeyia Deshauntae Northern of Tallulah; two sisters, LaTonya Michelle Meekins and Almeda Rawlings, both of Vicksburg; four brothers, Timothy Rawlings of Richmond, Va., and Charles A. Meekins, Christopher Rawlings and Clifton F. Rawlings, all of Vicksburg; his maternal grandfather, William Murray of Chicago; and other relatives, including Jeremy Meekins, Jarvis McDaniel, Jade McDaniel and members of the Darden, Meekins and Stewart families, all of Vicksburg.

Monroe Dixon Williams Sr.

Monroe Dixon Williams Sr. died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.

Born in Brownsville, Miss., Mr. Williams had lived in Vicksburg for the past 59 years. He was a former employee of Westinghouse Corp., Illinois Central Railroad, City Oil Co. and the Vicksburg Warren School District.

He was a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elmira Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Williams of Vicksburg; five sons, Monroe Williams Jr. of Vicksburg, Johnny L. Williams of Ontario, Calif., Carl E. Williams of Dallas, Don C. Williams of New Orleans and Michael L. Williams of Meridian; seven daughters, Ida M. Williams of Chicago, Dorothy Williams of Greenville, Helen Collins of Bakersfield, Calif., Frankie Brown of Los Angeles, Janice Williams of Jackson, Lori Johnson of Dallas and Feli K. Bugg of Houston, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
