UTICA – Donald Frank Boyd Jr. died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 69.

Mr. Boyd was a resident of Utica, where he was employed at Hubbard Butane for 25 years. He retired from Blossman Gas.

He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Hinds County.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Glasgow Boyd of Utica; three sons, Frank Ashley Boyd and Edward Wayne Wilson, both of Utica, and Todd Ferrel Wilson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lisa Wilson Berryman of Vicksburg and Stephanie Wilson Phelps of Utica; two sisters, Alice Hearn and Dot McCraine, both of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Calloway and Tom Owens officiating.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Annie Belle DeLoach

Annie Belle DeLoach died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.

Mrs. DeLoach was a native of Jefferson County and had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She graduated from Union Church High School. She retired in 1973 as bookkeeper from P.L. Hennessey after 30 years of service.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Sallie Stephenson Smith; her husband, Louis DeLoach; and six sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include a sister, Gladys Pettway of Memphis, and nieces and nephews, including Mary Elaine Smith of Clinton and Jim Pettway Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 27, 2005, at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Hancell Bankester, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Thursday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Jim Pettway, Marquis Smith, Joe Dan Rushing, Dennis Ralph Rushing, James Edward Rushing, Donald Earl Rushing Jr. and Irvin Haydel.

Ronald Wayne McClure Sr.

PORT GIBSON – Ronald Wayne McClure Sr. died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 31.

Mr. McClure was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie M. McClure, and his grandfather, the Rev. Bennie McClure.

He is survived by his wife, Tywana Croskey-McClure of Port Gibson; a son, Ronald McClure Jr. of Port Gibson; his father, Ronnie Leroy Walters of Grand Rapids, Mich.; four brothers, Vernon Wayne Alexander and Ronnie Leroy Alexander, both of Port Gibson, and Ernest Dee and Ronnie Dee, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Paulette McClure of Port Gibson; three stepsisters, Tonya Wren, Mary Brooks and Lashun Hicks, all of Port Gibson; his grandmothers, Beatrice McClure of Port Gibson and Rosia Lee Robinson of Grand Rapids; his grandfathers, Louis Walker of Victorville, Calif., and T.J. Walters of Grand Rapids; a great-grandmother, Cordelia “Decee” Heath of Port Gibson; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including James “Motor” Thomas and Milton Coleman, both of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Elijah Brown officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank McGriggs. Burial will follow at Carbondale Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 until 5 p.m. today with family hour from 5 until 6 and at the church Thursday from noon until the service.

Joseph Shelton

Joseph Shelton died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at his home. He was 64.

Mr. Shelton was a member of Mount Givens M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnson Shelton Sr. and Julia Perkins Shelton; and a brother, Johnson Shelton Jr.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Shelton Jr. of Indianapolis; a daughter, Diane Moffett of Vicksburg; two sisters, Katie Gray and Chaney Peterson, both of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including the Eastman, Nelson, Peterson, Scott and Shelton families of Vicksburg.
