Margie Boone

Margie Boone died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at her home. She was 74.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Boone was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Boone; and her parents, Robert and Sara Wood.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel W. Boone and Kenny Boone, both of Vicksburg; three stepsons, James Boone of New Orleans, George Boone of Vicksburg and Dan Boone of Las Vegas; and a sister, Nancy Smythe of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Hancell Bankester officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Tuesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Robert K. Foley Jr., Jimmy Mullen, Robert L. Mullen, Gary Zachary Smythe Jr., Peter Boone and Dennis Wood.

Jeanne S. Parker

Jeanne S. Parker died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Shady Lawn Convalescent Home. She was 82.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Henrietta Schmid.

Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Carr Central High School. For many years she was an employee of Charles’ Department Store and McRae’s Department Store in the Ladies’ Ready-to-Wear Department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell E. Parker, and a son, Walter F. Corbin.

She is survived by a son, Robert V. “Bob” Parker of Vicksburg, and four grandchildren, Lisa M. Parker of Wharton, N.J., Tara Corbin Banks of Orlando, Fla., Victor S. Parker of the University of Mississippi and Troy J. Corbin of Largo, Fla.

Services for Mrs. Parker will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Harper, pastor of Hawkins United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Lee Lazor, Andrew Cook, Victor Parker, Larry McWilliams Jr., Burkett Martin, Ray Bufkin, Sam Price and Calvin Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Oren Bailess, Charles H. Abraham and Dr. Walter Johnston Jr.
