Lauren Anderson’s bat propelled Warren Central into the Lady Vikes Invitational final on Saturday and her right arm secured the championship trophy.
Anderson pitched a complete game in the championship to earn a 4-1 win over Cleveland. The Lady Vikes allowed only one run in the tournament.
To get to the championship, though, Anderson came through with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning for the only runs of the game to give WC a 2-0 win over Vidalia, La.
Anna Jones led off the fifth inning by reaching on an error and Brittany Fuller’s hit put runners on second and third with one out. Anderson drilled a double to deep left-centerfield to score both runners.
The Lady Vikes had four hits off standout Vidalia pitcher Christy Corley and loaded the bases twice in the earlier innings, but could not score until the final at bat.
Fuller allowed only one hit and struck out 10 for the win.
In the championship game, the Lady Vikes (6-2) scored four runs on one hit and two Cleveland (4-1) errors in the first inning and it proved to be the only scoring they would need.

Cleveland finished second in the tournament, while Lawrence County placed third and Vidalia, La., placed fourth.
