Virginia Ruth Raymond Barrow
BASTROP, La. – Virginia Ruth Raymond Barrow died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at her home in Bastrop, La. She was 68.
Mrs. Barrow was born in Gilmer, Texas, and was a former longtime resident of Delhi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Clifton Barrow; two grandsons, Joshua Barrow and Joey Jesselink; and her parents, John and Hamon Morris McCurry.
She is survived by three sons, Jarvis Barrow, George Barrow and David Barrow, all of Vidor, Texas; four daughters, Jeanie Lee and Angie Maxwell, both of Delhi, Sarah Lewis of Bastrop and Sue Russell of El Dorado, Ark.; a sister, Mary Collins of Vicksburg; and 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. Todd Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery in Delhi.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mathew Lee Jr.
Services for Mathew Lee Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Lee died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at his home. He was 55.
He was retired from the Army and had served in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Tyner-Ford Post No. 213 and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Mathew Sr. and Charlie Lillie Lee.
He is survived by a son, Mathew Lee III of St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter, Roxie M. Palmer of Clinton; one brother, Douglas Lee of Tupelo; three sisters, Charity Burnham of Dallas, Brenda Lee of Vicksburg and Lorraine Smith of Columbus, Ind.; and an aunt who reared him, Le Anna Conner of Vicksburg.
Patsy Ray Thornton
Services for Patsy Ray Thornton will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Creswell, pastor of Berachah Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thornton died Friday, March 4, 2005, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 71.
Mrs. Thornton was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and the daughter of the late Corbett and Nita B. Johnson McCurdy.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Logue.
She is survived by her husband, Ellis A. Thornton; three sons, Michael Logue and Kenny Logue, both of Shreveport, and Wayne Logue of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Lenna Lee of Vicksburg, Claudene White of Memphis and Oma Usry of Forest, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Terry, Joe McBroom, Ray McBroom, Phillip Lee, James Lee, Stanley Lee, Jason Lee, Charles Lee and John Lee.
