Willie Mae King

Willie Mae King died Monday, March 7, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 71.

A homemaker, Mrs. King was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph King Sr.; one son, Jessie James King; two brothers, Isiah Thomas and Henry Tyler; three sisters, Natalie Jackson, Marie Johnson and Jessie Mae Tyler; and her parents, Mack Thomas Sr. and Viola Alexander Thomas.

Survivors include three sons, Freddie L. Hall, Michael King and Claude Lee King, all of Vicksburg; seven daughters, Vera Jean Hall, Jo Ann King, Brenda Davis, Claudette King, Debra Hall, Willine King and Laura Ann King, all of Vicksburg; one brother, Mack Thomas Jr. of Newburg, N.Y.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Alvin Sanders Sr.

Services for Alvin “Smoky Sander” Sanders Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.

Mr. Sanders died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vicksburg. He was 67.

Mr. Sanders was a member of St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church and a former employee of the Holiday Inn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Levi Johnson; his mother and stepfather, Rozena and Otis Avery; a son, Alvin Sanders Jr.; a sister, Vernita S. White; a brother, Stuart Sanders; and a grandson, Joshua Ryan Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Sanders of Vicksburg; two daughters, Anquinette S. Jenkins and Sherri L. Sanders, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Florence Hunter of Edwards; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Juanita Young

Juanita Young died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Decatur Hospital in Decatur, Ga. She was 62.

Lakeview Funeral Home of Vicksburg has charge of arrangements.
