Katherine Amborn Dooley
Katherine Amborn Dooley died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 88.
Mrs. Dooley was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, where she graduated from St. Francis. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a member of St. Paul Altar Society and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Etoile Beauchamp Amborn.
She is survived by a son, William Dooley and his wife, Donna J. Dooley of Sarasota, Fla.; two granddaughters, Meredith Dooley Warwick of Atlanta, Ga., and Colleen Dooley Shoemaker of Jacksonville, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Connor Dooley Shoemaker and Caroline J. Shoemaker, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Elizabeth L. Warlick of Atlanta, Ga., and William B. Shoemaker of Jacksonville, Fla.; two nieces, Judy Lambert of Houston, Texas, and Kathryn Walsh of Jackson; two nephews, Robert Amborn and Charles Amborn, both of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Charles L. Amborn Jr., Robert H. Amborn Sr., Robert H. Amborn Jr., Andrew C. Amborn, Charles Thomas Amborn, Robert Warlick and Steven B. Shoemaker.
Fisher Funeral Home has charge of all arrangements.
Burson Wafer Kirkpatrick
ST. JOSEPH – Burson Wafer Kirkpatrick died Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. She was 83.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born in Saline, La., and lived in Tensas Parish for 39 years. She was a retired secretary and a store owner. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church and an avid square dancer.
She is survived by a son, Randy O. Kirkpatrick of Alexandria, La.; a daughter, Carolyn E. Kirkpatrick of Epps, La.; two sisters, Ione Corbitt of Catlett, Va., and Sunshine Sanderli of Macon, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Baptist Church in St. Joseph, La., with Fulton McGraw and Ron Flurry officiating. Burial will follow at the Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 until 8 today.
Pallbearers will be Jack Morgan, Dale Currington, Russell Peterson, Benny Stansell, R.W. Oldenburg and Buddy Tindell.
Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Kirkpatrick.
