Charles Robinson
DOWAGIAC, Mich. – Services for Charles “Snook” Robinson were Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Connelly Funeral Home in Cassopolis, Mich., with the Rev. Stanley Robinson officiating.
Mr.Robinson died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Dowagiac Nursing Home in Dowagiac, Mich. He was 91.
Mr. Robinson was born in Vicksburg to the late Charles and Lillian Robinson. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Cassopolis. He was a member of the deacon board and Sunday school superintendent.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Alice Hall; and his wife, Betty Goins Robinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Marsden of Fort Myers, Fla. and Wanda Lane of Niles, Mich,; four sons, Charles Robinson of Detroit, Tom Anderson and Nathan Goins, both of Cassopolis, Mich., and the Rev. Stanley Robinson of Belleville, Mich.; three sisters, Mary Hawks and June Griffin, both of Rockford, and Gloria Davenport of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.
Lillian Smith
FLORENCE – Lillian Tressie Smith died March 31, 2005 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Florence. She was 95.
Mrs. Smith was born in Magee and lived in Oak Grove before moving to Florence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; two sons, Prentis Smith and Lloyd Smith; and a daughter, Erma Lee McMillian.
Survivors include a sister, Lina Riley of Shreveport; three sons, Billy Ray Smith and Wayne Smith, both of Oak Grove, and Durwood Smith of Quitman, La.; five daughters, Myrtis Sant of Jackson, Beatrice Frith of Monroe, Frances Streeter of Bastrop, Callie Parden of Monroe, N.C., and Carolyn McMillian of West Monroe; 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery in Forest, La.
Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
