Michael Keith “Mike” Fryer

DELHI – Michael Keith “Mike” Fryer died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi. He was 45.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Fryer and Bonnie Fryer.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Fryer of Delhi; one stepdaughter, Felecia Keeton of Rayville; one brother, Randy Fryer of Delhi; one sister, Carol Frith of Tallulah; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 3 today at Dunn Baptist Church in Delhi with the Rev. Bernard Duchesne Jr. and the Rev. Eddie Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery in Delhi. Visitation will be from 10 this morning until the hour of service at Dunn Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tommy Carr, Mac Dearman, Jay Eldridge, David Fallin, Bruce Monroe, Joey Newton and Kent Upton.

Kelly Thomas Sr.

PORT GIBSON – Kelly Thomas Sr. died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 94.

Mr. Thomas was a member of Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson. He worked at the Port Gibson Veneer and Box Co. for more than 40 years and retired from Port Gibson Oil Works Co.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Harriett Neal-Thomas; his wife, Mary Lee Thomas; and three brothers, William Thomas Jr., Frank Thomas and Earl Thomas.

He is survived by a son, Kelly Thomas Jr. of Port Gibson; five daughters, Annie L. Byrd, Dorothy L. Newton and Sadie B. Watters, all of Port Gibson, Margaret Lewis of Chicago and Katie R. Walker of New Hebron; one sister, LeDora Harvey of Jackson; 31 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday from noon until the service at the church.

Annie Jones Wade

PORT GIBSON – Annie Jones Wade died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 89.

Mrs. Wade was a member and choir member of Rising Sun M.B. Church in Port Gibson. She had served as a Sunday school teacher for the Primary class for over 50 years. She served as the vice president of the Mission, president of the pastor’s aide club, treasurer of Port Heron Chapter 166A OES of Port Gibson and treasurer of the Gold West and Scott’s Memorial Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Annie Jones; and her husband, Charles Wade.

Survivors include two nieces, Vernelia Coffie of Boston, Mass. and Sammie Lee Clark of Lorman; two nephews, Norwood Redmond of Port Gibson and Dr. Frank Jones of Hattiesburg; and other relatives and friends including the Robert Gage family of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rising Sun M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Scott’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 this evening at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Robert E. Welch

Robert E. Welch, 58, passed away Friday, April 1, 2005, in Rolling Fork. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Deer Creek Church. A burial service will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Robert, a retired Army veteran, was survived by his daughter, Shelia Burk and her husband, Patrick; his son, Bobby Welch; his two precious grandchildren, Alaina and Madison Burk; his mother, Susan Beatrice Morgan; his three sisters, Jimmie Sue Routh and her husband, Claude, Martha Muirhead and her husband, Jimmy, Cynthia Prestianni and her husband, Joseph; his brother, William Morgan; several nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

Emaline Fulton Hupp Bullard Wilkinson

Emaline Fulton Hupp “Emy” Bullard Wilkinson died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 33.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Wilkinson was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and attended Millsaps College. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Southern studies.

She was a member of a number of professional and civic organizations. She had served as director of the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau for the past year.

Mrs. Wilkinson was the founding director of the Tourism Bureau in Yazoo City, where she established the tourism board before joining the Corinth Tourism Bureau as director for seven years. She had served as vice president and president of the Mississippi Tourism Association and was on the board of the Mississippi Restaurant Association.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chancellor Nathaniel W. “Nat” Bullard.

Survivors include her husband, Odis Wilkinson of Vicksburg; two sons, John Henley Wells Wilkinson and Christopher Harris Bullard Wilkinson, both of Vicksburg; her mother, Betty Dial Williams Bullard of Vicksburg; five sisters, Betty B. Quantz of Oxford, Ohio, Ann B. Gee of St. Joseph, Ettie B. Jones of Midland, Texas, Allison B. Durst of Vicksburg and Sally Bullard of Clinton; two brothers, John Williams Bullard of Vicksburg and Archibald Webb Bullard of Corinth; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Bryant, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be in Ward Hall at the church from 1 p.m. Thursday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel B. Gee, Todd W. Gee, UV Jones IV, Bullard W. Jones, John Bradway and Lamar Roberts.
