Harold D. Alexander

Harold D. Alexander died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 69.

Mr. Alexander was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was a 1954 graduate of Redwood High School. He was self-employed with Alexander’s Appliance Service. He was a member of Bradley Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, R.H. Alexander; and his brother, Kelly Leon Alexander.

Survivors include two sons, Kelly Alexander and Keith Alexander, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Zella Ruth Alexander of Vicksburg; one brother, Robert Clyde Alexander of Vicksburg; three sisters, Martha “Sister” Griffith and Margaret Alexander, both of Vicksburg, and Ann Windham of Monroe, La.; the mother of his children, Alice Jones of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. Thursday until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Patients Choice Hospice and Palliative Care at 1911 Mission 66, Suite A, Vicksburg, Miss. 39180.

Myrtie Lee Hughes

FOREST – Myrtie Lee Hughes died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. She was 90.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Winn Parish, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lacy Hughes; two sons, Lonnie Hughes and Wayne Edward Hughes; and her parents, James Jiner Lewis and Helon Avery Lewis.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Forrest Constiner of Oak Grove; two sons, Shelby Hughes and Travis Ray Hughes, both of Forest; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Leslie Yates and the Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery in Forest.

Pallbearers will be Ted Ross, Earl Bankston, Andy Lee, Steven Hughes, James Hughes and Fred Eubanks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hughes, Joey Eubanks, Eugene Eubanks, Wade Eubanks and Todd Smith.
