Billie Ruth Ballard Mullen

Billie Ruth Ballard Mullen died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.

Mrs. Mullen was born in Memphis to Herbert Earl Ballard and Vernon Ophelia Slayton Ballard. She had been a Vicksburg resident since 1953.

She was a retired beautician and cosmetologist and was one of the first graduates of Vicksburg School of Cosmetology. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Mrs. Mullen was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Mullen.

She is survived by a number of cousins and her caregivers, Jessie Boleware and Jerry Hall.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. Sam Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.
