The President’s Cup soccer tournament finished a successful run in Vicksburg on Sunday evening, leaving optimism and praise from Mississippi Youth Soccer Association officials in its wake.

“These guys are a nine,” MYSA executive director Brent Clements said, when asked to rate the tournament on a scale of 1 to 10. “For the first time out, they hit the mark … Whenever we had an issue or something, we went to (Vicksburg Soccer Organization president) Clint (Grafton) and they were right on it.”

Clements added that the issues he spoke of were more like minor inconveniences. Two major problems popped up before the tournament, and were dealt with before most teams were even aware of them:
