City, VSO praised for tournament success|[5/17/05]

Three thousand players, parents and fans. Nearly 150 teams. Roughly 270 games.

And no problems.

The President’s Cup soccer tournament finished a successful run in Vicksburg on Sunday evening, leaving optimism and praise from Mississippi Youth Soccer Association officials in its wake.

“These guys are a nine,” MYSA executive director Brent Clements said, when asked to rate the tournament on a scale of 1 to 10. “For the first time out, they hit the mark … Whenever we had an issue or something, we went to (Vicksburg Soccer Organization president) Clint (Grafton) and they were right on it.”
