Julia Juanita Ervin
DURANT – Julia Juanita Ervin died Monday, May 16, 2005, in Durant. She was 71.
Mrs. Ervin was the daughter of the late Aaron and Katie Yates Morgan. She was a homemaker. She had lived in Vicksburg for 30 years and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Ervin; a brother, Harley Morgan; and two sisters, Hattie Wheeler and Mable Dill.
Survivors include a son, Wesley Ates of West; four brothers, Ike Morgan and James Morgan, both of Lonoke, Ark., and Pete Morgan and Bill Morgan, both of Shreveport; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Reggie Crawford officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Redmon, Wade Hammack, Stan Woodson, Calvin Seyfarth, Jerry Miller and Oren Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers will be W.F. Strickland, Rhea Fuller, Paul Gaunt, Russell Barnes, Dr. Paul Pierce and Johnny Reynold.
Debra Ann Rigby
JACKSON – Debra Ann “Dee” Rigby died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 47.
Mrs. Rigby had lived in Jackson for the past 44 years after moving with her parents from Brooklyn, N.Y. A graduate of Hinds Nursing School, she worked in labor, delivery and prenatal intensive care departments.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Alcarese.
She is survived by her husband, Lawson Rigby of Jackson and formerly of Vicksburg; a son, Gabriel Rigby of Florence; a daughter, Jessica Rigby of Jackson; and her father, John Alcarese of Jackson.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at St. Therese Catholic Church. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial under the direction of Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home.
Eula Mae Smith
OAK GROVE – Eula Mae Smith died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at West Carroll Care Center. She was 83.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Oak Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie Lee Wallis and Edward R. Smith; four sisters, Thelma Smith, Bessie Davis, Ruby Balesano and Patsy Andrews; and her parents, Robert R. and Clara Lillian Crain.
She is survived by a son, Robert “Bob” Wallis of Brandon; a daughter, Linda Wallis of Laurel; three sisters, Gloria M. Kelley of Longview, Wash., Hazel L. Temple of Longview, Texas, and Syble L. Rhodes of Ruston, La.; one brother, Benny E. Crain of McAllister, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Paul Ninemire officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willie Crain, Bobby Joe Crain, John Gathings, Marshall Ruffin, Matthew Lacaze and Red Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Sowell, Jim Sowell, Carlas Spann, Danny Gunter, Dr. Paul W. Grandon and John Tilmon.
Georgia Lee Tilton
MONROE – Georgia Lee Tilton died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at her home in Monroe. She was 69.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leo Tilton; her son, John Wesley Tilton; and her parents, Paul and Margarita Fabela.
Survivors include one son, Charles Tilton of Tallulah; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove. Burial will follow at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
