Charles Junior Almond
FOREST – Charles Junior Almond died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. He was 29.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Almond.
Survivors include his mother, Mattie Jones of Forest; five brothers, Elmer Jones of Oak Grove, Kenwin Robinson and Michael Jones, both of Forest, and James Almond and Don Almond, both of Houston; two sisters, Janet Kennedy of Oak Grove and Dorothy Almond of Houston; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Don Boyett officiating. Burial will follow at Reeks Cemetery in Oak Grove.
Pallbearers will be Billy Jinks, Michael Crenshaw, Timond Jones, Pete Posey, Jeffrey Posey and Clifton Posey.
Beatrice Hubbard
Beatrice Hubbard died Monday, May 16, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 64.
Mrs. Hubbard, a homemaker, was born in Kellogg, La. She was a member of Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church, where she was on the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Wynn; and her maternal grandmother, Jimmie Wynn.
She is survived by a brother, Sam Turner of Greenville; an aunt who reared her, Thelma Hubbard of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Nathaniel Winston and Louise Carpenter, both of Vicksburg.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Wayne Potts
Kenneth Wayne Potts died Friday, May 13, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 59.
A native of Wilson, Ark., Mr. Potts was the son of the late Leon R. and Erleen Carwyle Potts. He was a registered nurse and was employed by St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War as a medic on an air evacuation team.
Mr. Potts had some 35 years of health-care service, to which he was very dedicated.
Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond Potts, Daniel Eugene Potts and James William Greer.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Lyn Potts of Perkinston, Miss.; two sons, Jay Potts of Des Moines, Iowa, and Aaron Potts of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Donnie “B.J.” Greer of Dallas, Texas, Eric Potts of Miami, Fla., and Gary Potts of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Karen Chambers and Sharon Herrington, both of Blytheville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Jason and Holly Potts, both of Des Moines; an aunt, Ree Taylor of Orlando; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Van Ducote officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Natchez National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the service.

Wesley James
Wesley James died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. He was 78.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Maudie James; three brothers, Dave James, Frank James and Carnell James; and one sister, Mary Ella James.
Survivors include his wife, Clara James of Vicksburg; two sons, Broderick James and Keith James, both of Romulus, Mich.; five daughters, Mattie James of River Rouge, Mich., Crystal James of New Orleans, Maria Van Rooijen of Romulus, Leslie Jordan of Monroe, La., and Felicia James of Vicksburg; one sister, Regina James of St. Louis; one brother, Sonny James of Detroit; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

James Maury Taylor
ST. JOSEPH – James Maury Taylor died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, Miss. He was 82.
Mr. Taylor was born in Corinth, Miss., and had lived in Tensas Parish for at least 30 years. He was a retired directional driller and a member of First Baptist Church of Newellton.
He was preceded in death by his son, James L. “Turkey” Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Bess Arnold Taylor of St. Joseph; one son, John David Taylor of College Station, Texas; two daughters, Peggy Brice of New Iberia and Mary Brownlee of Frisco, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Newellton with the Rev. Todd Sumrall and the Rev. J. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
