Smith and Clark were identified as business partners in Manicures, Martinis and Magic, 1312 Washington St., and Smith is a family law attorney, according to a story published by The Vicksburg Post in August 2004.

The two were arrested shortly after a Brandon woman was shot while driving on Old Canton Road. A Ridgeland police spokesman said Clark and Smith had argued with the driver of the other car at a fast-food restaurant on County Line Road around 12:30 a.m.

According to police reports, Susan Wiltshire, 22, was in the drive-through lane at a Krystal on County Line when the car she was driving was bumped from the rear by the car driven by Clark. There was a brief argument, and then both cars left on Old Canton Road.

Several shots were reported after the Jaguar Smith and Clark were in caught up with the Toyota driven by Wiltshire, police said.

One shot hit Wiltshire’s left side, entering through her arm, police said. She was listed in fair condition this morning at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, according to a hospital spokesman.

Clark and Smith were arrested by Ridgeland police at Harbour Drive and Lake Harbour Drive, according to police reports. Police Lt. John Neal said Smith was driving when the vehicle was stopped.

Police declined to say who is accused of firing the shot and identified the weapon as semiautomatic.
