George Harry Dolley

George Harry Dolley died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at his home. He was 69.

Mr. Dolley was born in Redwood. He was employed with Haden Fence Company and was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church No. 1.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham Dolley and Caldonia Summer Dolley; and one brother, Leroy Dolley.

Survivors include one son, Walter Dolley of Vicksburg; two daughters, Angela Dolley of Vicksburg and Wanda Dolley of Minnesota; two brothers, Willie Lee Dolley of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Lemirah “Pat” Scott of Redwood; three sisters, Elizabeth Hill of Vicksburg, Betty Lou Cole of Egremont and Mary Dorsey of Greenville; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral has charge of arrangements.

Ruby F. Dubuisson

PICAYUNE – Ruby F. Dubuisson died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Shady Oaks Personal Care Home in Carriere. She was 94.

A native of Hancock County, Mrs. Dubuisson was a school lunchroom dietitian manager and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune.

Survivors include one daughter, Sybil Jarrell of Picayune; six sons, Roland Dubuisson and Douglas Dubuisson, both of Vicksburg, Glyn Dubuisson of Picayune, Elliott Dubuisson of Starkville, Norman Dubuisson of Slidell, La., and Victor Dubuisson of Sugarland, Texas; a sister, Jewel Huch of Long Beach; and 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Revs. Michael Snyder and John Noone officiating. Burial followed at New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Estella Gordon Patterson

Estella Gordon Patterson died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Vicksburg. She was 93.

Mrs. Patterson was born in Lorman. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Gordon and Cora Monroe Gordon; one son, Isaac Patterson Jr.; nine brothers, McKinley Williams, Willie Gordon, James Gordon, Wash Gordon, Washington Gordon, Louis Gordon, Tommie Gordon, Jerome Gordon and George Gordon; and five sisters, Lizzie Granderson, Katherine Gordon, Alice Gordon, Sue Gordon and Sarah Cason.

Survivors include one son, George Patterson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mary E. Copeland of Omaha, Neb., and Cora E. Jones of Vicksburg; one sister, Rachel Bingham of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh M.B. Church with the Rev. William J. Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 this evening at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service at the church.

Elizabeth Sue Thompson

TALLULAH – Elizabeth Sue Thompson died Monday, June 13, 2005, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 66.

Ms. Thompson was a former resident of Delhi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Stamper Thompson Sr. and Elizabeth Virgil Anding Thompson.

Survivors include one brother, Julian “Bud” Thompson Jr. of Baton Rouge; one sister, Julianne Bonnecaze of Baton Rouge; and other relatives.

Services were at 10:30 this morning at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Delhi with the Rev. Joe Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.

Maurice Watts

MONROE – Maurice Watts died Monday, June 13, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was 75.

Mr. Monroe was born in Newellton. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a farmer and windshield-repair specialist. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Woodruff Watts of Monroe; one daughter, Sandra Kay Norris of Houston; one sister, Hazel Davidson of Monroe; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 today at the First Baptist Church of Newellton with the Rev. Mark Fenn and the Rev. Todd Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Ed Britt, Larry Foster, Randy McDonald, Carl Tatum Jr., “Coonie” McVay and Bobby Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie McClain and Billy Parker.
