A Vicksburg woman arrested in May after a drive-by shooting in Ridgeland has been indicted by a Madison County grand jury.
Judith Kristie Smith, also known as Judith Kristie Miller, 37, 132 Pebble Beach Drive, was indicted on three felony counts, one for drive-by shooting and two for aggravated assault.
She waived arraignment and a trial date of Dec. 20 was set, a spokesman for Madison County Circuit Clerk Lee Westbrook’s office said today.
Smith, who is a Jackson family lawyer, was arrested along with Thomas Randy Clark Jr., 33, 109 Hillside Circle, Vicksburg, following the May 22 incident.
Charges against Clark remained pending, but the clerk’s spokesman said she could not discuss whether he has also been indicted.
Ridgeland law enforcement officers said a Jaguar occupied by Smith and Clark collided with a Toyota driven by Susan Wiltshire, 22, Brandon, at the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant and a verbal exchange followed.
Wiltshire reportedly left the restaurant and headed north on Old Canton Road when the Jaguar pulled up beside her and several shots were fired. She was struck in the left side and required hospitalization and surgery, according to reports at the time. Two passengers in her car were not injured.
Smith and Clark were later stopped and arrested by officers. They have been free on $200,000 bond each.
Smith and Clark are partners in Manicures, Martinis and Magic at 1312 Washington St. in downtown Vicksburg.
Smith operates the Smith-Miller, Boone and Associates law office in Jackson.
