Mary Benson Bargeron
Mary Benson Bargeron died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.
Born in Waynesboro, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Robert Raleigh Quick and Mary Frances Donnell.
Mrs. Bargeron had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past three years and was a retired caregiver with several retirement centers.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Helene Benson of Vicksburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Thomas Axt of Corona, Calif., and Cynthia and Brian Southern of Stockbridge, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Cristin Benson of Phoenix, Ariz., Stacy Benson of Las Vegas, Nev., Rickie Axt, Mary Axt and Cody Axt, all of Corona, and Jared Southern, Lacey Southern and Katie Southern, all of Stockbridge; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Benson of Phoenix and Alyssa Benson of Las Vegas; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandra Quick of Millington, Tenn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with Father P.J. Curley, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenfork Baptist Church Cemetery in Millen, Ga., under the direction of Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Hiram Earl Pierce Sr.
JASPER, Texas – Hiram Earl “Gobbler” Pierce Sr. died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Vicksburg. He was 85.
Mr. Pierce was born and reared in McBride, Miss. He was a resident of Jasper. He retired from the Gulf Oil Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, after 33 years. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Anna Pierce; his wife, Louie A. Pierce; one son, Jimmie Earl Pierce; two brothers, R.S. Pierce and Ernest Clyde Pierce; and four sisters, Lottie Lee Dungan, Lois Lee Hall, Claudine McClure and Lelia Mae McClure; and one great-grandchild, Kristie Lynn Mitchell.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Faye Pierce Christensen of Brenham, Texas, and Elsie Pierce Tremmie of Houston; one son, Hiram Earl “Buddy” Pierce Jr. of Brandon; two sisters, Addelle Hall of Brookhaven and Marie P. Hynum of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services were at 11 this morning at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Town Bluff, Texas.
