A Vicksburg construction company owner was found dead this morning, and police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

“We have no suspects as such, but we have people who worked with him that we are questioning,” Capt. Mark Culbertson, chief of detectives, said about three hours after Kenneth Williamson, 47, was found in a bed at his home at 2841 U.S. 61 South.

Williamson was the owner of K&W Construction.

Culbertson said Williamson had been shot in the head at least once, but an autopsy was scheduled at Mississippi Mortuary in Pearl later today and it was expected to show any additional wounds.

An employee of the construction company found Williamson at 6:31 after he failed to show up at a job site. It was not clear if Williamson lived alone at the house near Wigwam Road.

“We have had a few theft-type calls to this location in the past, but nothing major,” Culbertson said.

The shooting death brought to three the number in the city this year.

On May 8, Kennado Caples, 26, 2708 Letitia St., was gunned down in a home he shared with his girlfriend. On July 17, David W. “Jones” Anderson, 41, 4719 Gibson Road, was shot outside the Elks Lodge at 2916 Walnut St.

No arrests have been made in either of the previous killings, and Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward in each.
