Lauren Johnson paved the way for PCA with a pair of stellar pitching performances. She struck out seven in a 6-2 win in the first game Tuesday, then held off Veritas for a 6-4 win in the second.

At the plate, Johnson went 5-for-6 with five RBIs in the doubleheader. Andi Hearn contributed a pair of RBIs in the first win, and Jessica May went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the second game.

The district-winning games came after a weekend that saw PCA go 2-1 in the Hillcrest Christian Tournament.

PCA defeated Deer Creek, 2-0, and North Delta, 4-1, before falling to Bayou Academy, 8-0.

Johnson pitched all three games and struck out 16 over the stretch.

Hearn went 2-for-3 against North Delta, while Kory Miller belted a double in the win over Deer Creek.
