Jeanette Price Vaughan

PEARL – Jeanette Price Vaughan, 74, beloved wife and mother to Kenneth and Beverly, died at her home in Pearl, Miss. on September 30, 2005. Visitation will be today from 12:30 to 2:45 p.m. at her home congregation, the North Brandon Church of Christ on Highway 471 in Brandon. The service will follow at 3 p.m. A graveside service will be at the Utica Cemetery.

Jeanette was born on April 16, 1931 in Carpenter, Miss., to Bob and Ginny Price, the youngest of 15 children. She was raised in the Utica community and in January 1951 married Kenneth. Their only child Beverly was born in 1955. In 1997, she and Kenneth moved from their farm in Claiborne County to the Gardens of Country Place in Pearl.

Although Jeanette was ill for most of her life, her faith and unstoppable will to live were an inspiration to all those who knew her. She always had a smile and hug for everyone she met and was loved dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a wonderful wife and mother, made “home” making her life’s work. As anyone who saw her gardens would attest, she loved flowers and being in God’s sunshine. In spite of her illness she traveled extensively to faraway and beautiful places and always considered herself blessed by what she was able to do. In her years at Pearl, she and Kenneth became an integral part of the North Brandon Church of Christ and their Christian brothers and sisters became indispensable members of their family. Jeanette was active in the work of the church, supporting such noble causes as the Missionary funds for both Cuba and Russia.

Jeanette is survived by her husband Kenneth, her daughter Beverly and Beverly’s husband Terry. Her surviving siblings include Reba Fisher and Percy Price of Utica, Mable Robinson of Raymond, Pete Price of Clinton and Lovie Fomby of Monroe, La.

Through the last several years of her illness, Jeanette, Kenneth and Beverly were shown numerous kindnesses. Kenneth and Beverly would like to especially thank Ray and Melba Penna, Dr. Scott McCay, the members of the North Brandon Church of Christ and their special neighbors at the Gardens of Country Place. Additionally, they wish to thank Jeanette’s very special caregivers who added so much the quality of her life: Dr. Ralph Susser, her primary physician for over 25 years; Dr. Jimmy Jones, her pulmonary specialist; Kenneth Russell, her home health nurse; Angela Johnson, her physical therapist; and most especially her day to day caregivers, Mrs. Delores Ladd and Mrs. Fay King who brought sunshine and smiles to her final days.

Jeanette’s daughter Beverly also wishes to acknowledge and honor her father Kenneth for his unfailing devotion, love and support of her mother.
