Oleta Ivins Homan
DELHI – Oleta Ivins Homan died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.
Born in Neches, Texas, Mrs. Homan was a resident of Delhi. She was a longtime salesclerk for Hopson’s Drug Store in Delhi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. Ivins and Mary Alma Roe Ivins, and a daughter, Sandra Sue Junkin.
She is survived by two brothers, Ewell Ivins of Beaumont, Texas, and Hub Ivins of New Orleans; a sister, Wanda Porter of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a great-great-grandchild; and other relatives.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home of Delhi with the Rev. Steve Hillman officiating. Burial followed at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Roberts, Tommy Rockett, Justin Rockett, Larry Copes, Gary Wilson and B.E. Pickett.
Susie Corine Ogle
Susie Corine Ogle died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Heritage House. She was 98.
Mrs. Ogle was a native of Jefferson County and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1927. She graduated from Union Church High School in Union Church, Miss. She owned and operated Jack Ogle general merchandise store. She worked as a postmaster for the United States Post Office for 31 years. She was a member of Yokena Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ogle; her parents, Perlie Robert and Carrie Humphreys Smith; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Dee Short of Albuquerque, N.M., and Patricia Ogle Greco of Houston; one sister, Pearlie Case of Natchez; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Bryant officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Ephesus Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Gousset, Joe Gousset, Gerald Smith, Audley Case, Dennis Daigre and Raymond Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Richards, John Leigh Hyland and Richard Palermo.

Dennis Taylor Jr.
Dennis Taylor Jr. died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.
Mr. Taylor was retired from International Paper. He was a member of King Solomon M.B. Church.
A graduate of Alcorn State University, he had served as president of the ASU Alumni Association and was past president of the local Democratic party.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Sr. and Josie B. Nash Taylor; two brothers, James Earl Taylor and Scott Henry Taylor; and his grandparents, Anthony and Priscilla Noble Nash, Mary Sheppard and Scott Taylor.
Survivors include Barbara R. Nailor of Vicksburg; two daughters, LaTonia Denise Taylor of Forrestville, Md., and Shirley Brown of Jackson; two brothers, Alvin E. Taylor of Vicksburg and Anthony Taylor of San Diego; five sisters, Verna T. Davis of Vicksburg, Willie Mary Thompson of Jackson, Jessie Lawry of Mound Bayou, Ruby Barnes of Columbus, Ohio, and Lillian Merriweather of Gary, Ind.; two grandchildren; and other relatives including the Reed family.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
