Mary M. Collins
TALLULAH – Mary M. Collins died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 84.
Mrs. Collins was born in Taft, Tenn., and had lived in Tallulah for a number of years. A homemaker, she was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Collins, and a son, Billy G. Collins.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Smith of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 today until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be George Barrow, David Barrow, Danny McDaniel, J.W. Hayden, Jamie Hayden and Frank Lee.
Clyde Ross Donnell
Clyde Ross Donnell died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 83.
Mr. Donnell was born in D’Lo and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 40 years. He was a retired Navy veteran, serving in World War II on the USS Ranger and USS Lexington.
With his brothers, he founded Donnell Brothers. He served on the Warren County Board of Supervisors. He was also on the Advisory Board for Merchants Bank and was a trustee for Hinds Community College. He was a member and life elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Patterson Donnell and Abbie Gill Donnell; and a brother, Ray King Donnell.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. Donnell of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donna Lynn Grissom of Leland and Gail D. Rhett of Vicksburg; one son, Richard Ross Donnell of Clinton; two sisters, Ruby Powers of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jo Dean Ware of Vicksburg; one brother, Roy Donnell of Brandon; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Matt Buckles officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be J.W. Carter, Otha Mendrop, Durwood Tadlock, Richard Rhett Jr., Jonathan Nation and Joey Donnell.

Charlie Flowers
UTICA – Charlie “Little Buddy” Flowers died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.
A native of Utica, Mr. Flowers was retired from the Claiborne County Highway Department. He was a member of Second Union Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Flowers; his parents, Earnest and Lula Leaser Flowers; a brother, Robert Flowers; and four sisters, Dora Hill, Cora Myles, Maggie Thomas and Marie Lynch.
He is survived by two daughters, Sadie Deyamport of Vicksburg and Deloris Jones of Freeport, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Derral Reshard Holmes
Services for Derral Reshard Holmes will be noon Saturday at Holly Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Henry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at New Oak Wood Cemetery in Mound under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Mr. Holmes died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 25.
A 1998 graduate of McCall Senior High School in Tallulah, Mr. Holmes was a security guard at Horizon Casino. He was a member and usher at Holly Grove M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Tiffany Denise Holmes; and three brothers, Charles Holmes III, Charles Holmes IV and Charles Holmes V.
He is survived by three sons, Derral R. Holmes Jr. and Jacobia Phillips, both of Tallulah, and Shandrick Holmes of Edwards; his parents, Charles R. Holmes Sr. and Corine Williams Holmes of Vicksburg; three brothers, Charles Richard Holmes Jr. and Abdul Lovett, both of Vicksburg, and Kevin Hanger of Memphis; four sisters, Carolyn Ellis of Jackson, Gloria Young of Atlanta, and Tammy Richardson and Julliette Wilson, both of Vicksburg; and uncles, aunts and cousins.
Lillie Mae Myles
Lillie Mae Myles died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Myles was a member of Mount Zion No. 1 Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Faye Myles.
She is survived by five sons, Charles Myles, Quinton Myles and Hugh Myles III, all of Vicksburg, and Bobby Lee Myles and Leonard Myles, both of Chicago; two daughters, Annie Myles and Bertha Anne Myles, both of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Ruth Cummings and Eula Griffin, both of Chicago; and other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Delbert L. Peacock
TALLULAH – Delbert L. Peacock died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at his home. He was 63.
Born in Monticello, Ark., Mr. Peacock lived in McGehee, Ark., before moving to Tallulah three years ago. He was a self-employed salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pesina Peacock of Tallulah; a son, Billy Peacock of Tallulah; four daughters, Shirley Peacock and Barbara Savage, both of Tallulah, Abigail Crum of Transylvania and Paula Vaughn of Kiln, Miss.; one sister, Ruth Osburne of Dumas, Ark.; two brothers, Paul Richard Peacock of McGehee and Henry Peacock of Dumas; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Tallulah Civic Center with the Rev. Willie Gaines officiating.
Willie James Prentiss
Services for Willie James Prentiss will be at 11 a.m. Monday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Alonzo Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Prentiss died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 45.
Mr. Prentiss attended Vicksburg High School and was a driver for J&B Cab Company. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson “Jeff” Prentiss and Alberta Cook Prentiss.
He is survived by a daughter, Noel Parrish; a stepdaughter, LaKisha Sims, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including James Green Jr. of Vicksburg and members of the Parrish, Prentiss, Allen, Nelson and Sims families of Vicksburg.
Sarah Francis Wesley
HOLLANDALE – Sarah Francis Wesley died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 69.
Mrs. Wesley was a resident of Hollandale.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Wesley of Hollandale; three sons, Dewight Wesley and Roy Wesley, both of Chicago, and Rickey Wesley of Texas; six daughters, Debra Belton, Phoebe Lewis and Atherstein Atkins, all of Hollandale, Sarah Funches and Audrey Rucker, both of Chicago, and Jaqueline Haywood of Texas; nine brothers, Major Flanagan, Chris Flanagan, James Flanagan, Terry Flanagan, Roosevelt Flanagan and Darryl Flanagan, all of Chicago, Ronnie Flanagan and Tommy Flanagan, both of Hollandale, and Wilford Flanagan of Atlanta; four sisters, Lula Manning of Delta City and Mary Allen, Maggie Grant and Venessa Smith, all of Chicago; 28 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Simmons High School auditorium in Hollandale with Elder Fraziar Funches officiating. Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery in Delta City.
A wake will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
