Bethel L. Bradley

NEWELLTON – Bethel L. Bradley died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.

Mr. Bradley was born in Delhi and retired as a revenue inspector from the State of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Shannon Campbell.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hilda Hawkins; two sons, B.L. &#8220Buz” Bradley Jr. of Ruston and Timothy E. Bradley of Natchez; a brother, Dick Bradley of Delhi; two sisters, Mary Sue Parks of St. Joseph and Dena Todd of Tallulah; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Newellton with the Rev. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Holt Sunday school class and deacons of First Baptist Church of Newellton.

Dylan Branch

Dylan Branch died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 3.

Dylan is survived by his mother and stepfather, Amanda and Trey Phillips of Vicksburg; his father, Joseph &#8220Tripp” Branch of Franklinton, La.; two sisters, Mikayla Blackwell of Vicksburg and Precious Branch of Clinton; one brother, Mason Phillips of Vicksburg; his maternal grandparents, Mack and Judy Knight of Edwards; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Judy Branch of Edwards; and his great-grandparents, John and Sarah Knight of Edwards, J.R. and Betty Pierce of Vicksburg, and Joseph and Birtie Branch of Blaine, Tenn.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Knight, Mike Walker, Will Stokes and Hillary Stokes.

Memorials may be made to a favorite children’s charity.

Lillian Newman Mitchell

Services for Lillian Newman Mitchell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. George Orthodox Church.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 tonight with Trisagion Prayers at 6 p.m. at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82 years old.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Mitchell.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave E. Newman and Bennie Mae &#8220B’La” M. Newman; two brothers, Gustave Newman Jr. and Virgil E. Newman.

Mrs. Mitchell was a proud wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband, George; five children, Stephanie M. Dean of Fredericksburg, Va., Cheryl M. McCollum of Alpharetta, Ga., Michael S. &#8220Mickey” Mitchell of Tallahassee, Fla., Debra &#8220Debbie” M. Gamblin of Brandon and Mark S. Mitchell of Vicksburg; one brother, Bryan &#8220Sonny” M. Newman of Clinton; and two sisters, Doris Stevens of Brandon and Frances &#8220Sis” Beales of Summerville, S.C.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mitchell spent her life dedicated to her family and community. For 11 years she served as president of the Cedars Ladies Club of Vicksburg and worked for 30 years planning and coordinating weddings.

Mrs. Mitchell will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, Jeffrey Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Wayne Massad and Danny Harmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cedars Ladies Club, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Henry &#8220Mac” Jarmon, Clarence A. Josephine Ellis Mullen

PORT GIBSON – Josephine Ellis Mullen died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 85.

A native and lifelong resident of Port Gibson, Mrs. Mullen owned and operated George Ellis Food Store. She was of the Greek Orthodox faith and attended Port Gibson Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Mullen, in 1993; her parents, George and Thomenia Ellis; two sisters, Emma Thomas and Ella Mae Ellis; and three brothers, Eli G. Ellis Sr., Johnny Ellis and Joe Ellis.

She is survived by a sister, Camille Ellis Burlton of Rockville, Md., and a sister-in-law, Anna Ellis of Port Gibson.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wintergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Terrell officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be John Sturdivant, Griff Ellis, Mike Mikell, Preston Piazza, Ellis Neal and Bob DuBois.

Honorary pallbearers will be E.G. Ellis Jr., Lillie Johnson and Rogers Burlton.

Hattie Reaves Trevilion

Hattie Reaves Trevilion died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at Belmont Gardens. She was 95.

Mrs. Trevilion had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Trevilion.

She is survived by a daughter, June Bassett of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a sister, Lena Reaves of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.

Henry David Truitt

HERMANVILLE – Henry David Truitt died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was 59.

Mr. Truitt was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Loraine Truitt; a brother, Jimmy Lee Truitt; and a sister, Malinda Truitt.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Damper and Kenya Damper Sr., both of Port Gibson; three daughters, Catonya Damper, Keisha Damper and Lashonda Damper, all of Port Gibson; a brother, Elijah Truitt of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including the Rev. Lonnie O’Quinn of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Lonnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 today at Thompson Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
