Janet W. Champagne

Janet W. Champagne died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at Promise Special Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 71.

Mrs. Champagne was born in Terry, Miss., the daughter of Will and Neuyall Whittington. She had been a 50-year resident of Bourg, La.

Mrs. Champagne was preceded in death by her husband, Laddis Champagne, and a great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Champagne of Vicksburg; two sons, Laddis Paul Champagne and Robert &#8220Bob” Champagne, both of Bourg; two sisters, Alice Virginia Burkett of Terry and Ida Gladys Hollingsworth of Utica; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Riles Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

James Alexander Tate

CARTHAGE – James Alexander Tate died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 100.

Mr. Tate was a native of West, Miss. He was an accountant and a farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Tate is survived by his daughter, Barbara Whitehead, of Vicksburg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage with the Revs. Jerry Tate and Steve Mainous officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Lexington.
