Jennings Bryan Miskelley Jr.

PORT GIBSON – Jennings Bryan Miskelley Jr., 74, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, 2005, at his home.

Visitation is noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton.

Mr. Miskelley was born in Carrollton and later made his home in Port Gibson. He graduated from J.C. George High School in Carrollton and graduated from Mississippi State University in Agriculture. He completed four years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Miskelley worked for the Farmers Home Administration in Port Gibson, where he later retired. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

Mr. Miskelley was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Mary Miskelley.

Survivors include his wife, Aylene Miskelley of Port Gibson; two daughters, Brenda Miskelley of Port Gibson and Paula Lambert of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Cassie and Joseph Moreland and Bradley Lambert; two sisters, Sue Goasa of Greenwood and Mary A. Peabody of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends and members of the family.

Mary Galtney Taylor

Mary Galtney Taylor died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 94.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Lorman. She was a homemaker and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Taylor; two sons, Booker T. Nash and Mack Arthur Nash; a daughter, Qubadis Taylor; her mother, Betsy Thomas; and four brothers, Rowan Galtney, Caleb Galtney, Jerry Galtney and Johnny Thomas.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard Nash and Charles Earl Taylor, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Winnie Shorter of Pittsburgh and Martha Williams, Betty Smith and Louise Kennedy, all of Vicksburg; 29 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
