Edna E. Caldwell

Edna E. Caldwell died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 84.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alma Thurman Ryals. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Caldwell; a grandson, Steve Caldwell; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Caldwell; one sister, Alma Barrett; and four brothers, Cecil Ryals, Marvin Ryals, Donald Ryals and Sydney Ryals.

Survivors include two daughters, Rose McKenzie and Edna Hadad, both of Vicksburg; three sons, George Caldwell Jr. of Chesapeake Bay, Va., James M. Caldwell of Vicksburg and Charles W. Caldwell of Bothell, Wash.; a brother, Milner Ryals of Sanford, Fla.; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with a wake service at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy McKenzie, Michael Caldwell, Stephen Caldwell, Brian Hadad, Tim Smith and Martin Pace.

Henry L. Caliguiro Sr.

Henry L. &#8220Hank” Caliguiro Sr. died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 58.

A native of New York, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Adelalde O’Connor Caliguiro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard as a boiler tech E4 petty officer.

He was loved and cherished by many longtime friends, co-workers and people of his community. He brought life, love, kindness, friendship and many rainbows to everyone’s lives he touched.

Hank Caliguiro is survived by his sister, Helena Caliguiro; two sons, Henry Caliguiro Jr. and Sean Caliguiro; a daughter, Barbara Caliguiro; three nieces; five great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 2005, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with U.S. Navy chaplain officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Fredona N. Eitelman

Fredona N. Eitelman died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, in Jackson. She was 93.

Born in New Castle, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Charley and Rosetta Cox Neihaus and had been a resident of Vicksburg and Jackson since 1998.

Mrs. Eitelman was a retired seamstress and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eitelman, and a brother, Harold Neihaus.

She is survived by a niece, Fredona Rousey of Vicksburg; two nephews, Ronald Neihaus and Carlton Neihaus, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Castle under the direction of Macer-Hall Funeral Home.

James R. Pierce

James R. &#8220J.R.” Pierce died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 68.

A native of Warren County, Mr. Pierce was retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

The son of the late Floyd and Mildred Sanders Pierce, he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Dylan Branch.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Betty Pierce of Vicksburg; two sons, Douglas Allen Pierce of Jacksonville, Ark., and Gregory Cass Pierce of Little Rock, Ark.; three stepdaughters, Judy Branch and Gail Stokes, both of Vicksburg, and Carolyn McGraw of Brandon; two stepsons, Billy Stokes of Hollandale and Buddy Stokes of Lake Providence; two sisters, Thelma Tohill and Wilma Whatley, both of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Malcolm Harmon, Doug Harmon, Greg Puckett, Ed Puckett, Rollie Bantaguen and Greg Colburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be James McGraw, Ken McBroom, Justin Stokes, Tripp Branch and Dwight Pugh.
