Johnnie Davis

ATLANTA – Johnnie Davis died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Riverside Hospital in Atlanta. She was 46.

Mrs. Davis was a care coordinator at Dogwood Forest Nursing Home in Atlanta. She was a member of Second Union Church.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mayfield of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one son, Shawn Nervis of Clinton; one daughter, Jamertra Michelle Mayfield of Stone Mountain; her parents, Johnny and Geneva M. Davis of Utica; a brother, Ralph Lorenzo Davis of Natchez; a sister, Shannon Denise Davis of Utica; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Jamyia Marie Lyons

Jamyia Marie Lyons, infant daughter of Michael Lyons and Tremona Jackson of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at home.

Jamyia was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Quincy Jackson and DaKory Kelley; four sisters, Angel Lyons, Quintivia Branch, Tylia McGowan and Trasahonna Jackson; and her grandparents, Estella Jackson and Roy Green of Cary, Agnes Lyons of Vicksburg and Dewitt Thomas of Greenville.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Vellia Morand

PORT GIBSON – Vellia Morand died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 85.

Mrs. Morand is survived by two daughters, Dorothy L. Dotson of Port Gibson and Patricia Fleming of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Lonnie Minter of Chicago; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Higdon Cemetery in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson with family hour from 6 until 7 and at the church Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the service.

Lucille Davis Williams Thomas

Lucille Davis Williams Thomas died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Chicago. She was 52.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a daughter, Tranelle Tranay Williams; her parents, Richard and Lucille Byrd Davis; a brother, Robert Davis; and a sister, Dolores Lee.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Thomas of Chicago; two sons, James Williams Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Jessie Williams of Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Eveline Gray, Doris Davis Patton, Diane Davis Washington, Rosie Davis Harris and Demetris Davis Gray, all of Vicksburg; nine brothers, Luke Lee, Leroy Watson, Jimmie Davis, Jessie Davis, Milton Davis and Ricky Ross, all of Vicksburg, Frank Davis of Edwards, Richard Davis of Kinder, La., and Willie Davis of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including Albert Davis of Chicago and members of the Davenport, Slaughter, Wilson, Bivens and Roberts families.
