Harold Francis Barker

Harold Francis Barker died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at his Vicksburg home. He was 72.

Mr. Barker was born on June 25, 1933, in England, Ark. He retired from Entergy in 1995 after 42 years of service. He was a Mason and past member of the Elks Lodge No. 95. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and softball player.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertie and Viola McBee Barker; and three sisters, Louise B. Fiser, Geneva B. Duncan and Dean W. McAlpin.

He enjoyed life, and his children and grandchildren were the love of his life. Mr. Barker was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church. He was married 52 years and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Barker’s survivors include his wife, Patricia &#8220Pat” Harden Barker of Vicksburg; two daughters Donna B. and husband James &#8220Bubba” Rowland Jr. of Vicksburg and Cheryl B. and husband John Hite Jr. of Vicksburg; two sisters, Birta B. Fiser of Sheridan, Ark., and Sally B. Fiser of Fort Smith, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Cristi R. and Nick Wolfe of Gulfport, Jay and Dixie Rowland of Vicksburg, Wes Rowland of Oxford and Andy and Phil Hite of Starkville; two great-granddaughters, Emmaline and Merritt Wolfe of Gulfport; and nieces and nephews, including Stan McAlpin of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White and Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. today until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jay and Wes Rowland, Andy and Phil Hite, and Nick Wolfe and Joey Wolfe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Andrews, Phares and Dot Griffin, Theresa and Al Ford, Betty and Jim Davis, David and Carolyn Wylie, David and Nina McBee, Wallace and Janice Goza, and Leon and Gloria Kennedy.

Memorials may be made to Bowmar Baptist Church Building Fund, 1825 U.S. 61 South, Vicksburg, MS 39180, or a favorite charity.

Ernestine Clark

DETROIT – Ernestine Clark died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Receiving Hospital in Detroit. She was 78.

Mrs. Clark was a former resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Henry Eugene Clark; a son, Samuel Henry Eugene Clark Jr.; her parents, George Morant and Elnora Cameron; and two sisters, Marilyn Morant and Mary Young.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloriastine Parker of Detroit; one sister, Iris Loving of Monroe; one brother, Harvey Morant of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Tuesday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Jamyia Marie Lyons

Services for Jamyia Marie Lyons, infant daughter of Michael Lyons and Tremona Jackson of Vicksburg, were at 11 a.m. today at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Archer officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Jamyia died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at home.

She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Quincy Jackson and DaKory Kelley; four sisters, Angel Lyons, Quintivia Branch, Tylia McGowan and Trasahonna Jackson; and her grandparents, Estella Jackson and Roy Green of Cary, Agnes Lyons of Vicksburg and Dewitt Thomas of Greenville.
