Pearson Gay Jr.

Pearson Gay Jr. died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at his home. He was 84.

Mr. Gay was a native of Scooba, Miss., and moved to Vicksburg as a young boy. He was married to Ruth Hullum Gay for 55 years. He was a retired electrical contractor with Ace Electrical Company.

He was an avid horseman and cattle farmer. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Pearson and Marie McCaskill Gay; by a brother, Wallace Gay and his wife Ruth; and by a sister, Jean Gay Place.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hullum Gay of Vicksburg; three sons, Mike Gay and wife, Regina, of Plainfield, N.J., Joe Gay and wife, Roxanne, of Vicksburg and Tom Gay and wife, Mary Ellen, of Cummin, Ga.; one daughter, Cherry Gay Clark and husband, Bobby, of Meridian; a first cousin, Jimmy McCaskill and wife, Laura, of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, Frank Clark, Emily Clark Anderson and husband T.J., Leslie Gay, Eric Gay, Michael Gay, Lindsey Gay, Elaine Clark, Lauren Gay, Elliott Clark and Maria Gay.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Bryant and Riley Donica officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Frank Clark, Michael Gay, Eric Gay, Elliott Clark, Brent Hopkins and Larry Copes.

Naeasea Nicole Johnson

Naeasea Nicole Johnson died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 20.

Naeasea was a special education student at Beechwood Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jessie Magsby.

She is survived by her parents, Elijah and Darlene Johnson; her grandparents, Elijah Johnson Sr. and Dorothy Mae Johnson; three sisters, Amanda Otis, Jazmin Johnson and Likisha Miller, all of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles and other relatives, including members of the Johnson and Otis families.

Williams Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Delores Baker Reynolds

Services for Delores Baker Reynolds will be at noon Saturday at Beech Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. James Buck officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Robbins Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.

Mrs. Baker died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 68.

Mrs. Reynolds was a member and mother at Beech Grove M.B. Church. She had worked for Mississippi Action for Progress and Warrenton Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Reynolds Sr.; her parents, Leandrew Sr. and Lablanche Baker; and one sister, Alfreda Kline.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Reynolds and Walker Reynolds III, both of Vicksburg; six daughters, Patricia Smith, Shirley Allen, Linda Smith and Carolyn Reynolds, all of Vicksburg, Lisa Kinnard of Jackson and Kathy Clyde of Covington, Ga.; two sisters, Hattie Earl Jeffrey of Vicksburg and Blanche Stewart of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Leandrew Baker Jr. of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Smith, Michael Clyde, Ron Allen, Anthony Kinnard, Anthony Hampton and Larry Henderson.
