Bessie Davis Fink
Bessie Davis Fink died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Panama City, Fla. She was 93.
A native of Tipton, Tenn., Mrs. Fink was a former resident of Vicksburg and moved to Panama City in 1995. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church of Vicksburg and had been a 50-year member of Oklahoma Eastern Star Chapter No. 37 in El Reno, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles F. Fink Jr.; three sisters; and a foster sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Clara F. Boes; a foster sister, Helen Riley; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Ark., under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Ark.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Annie Lee Dixon Hawkins
UTICA – Annie Lee Dixon Hawkins died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 84.
A housekeeper, Mrs. Hawkins was a Utica resident.
She is survived by a daughter, Delois Lee of Utica; and two sons, Robert Dixon of Michigan and Jess Dixon of Utica.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Utica. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Progressive Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Eddie Hooper Jr.
Eddie Hooper Jr. died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 86.
Mr. Hooper retired as a custodian from Batesville Casket Co. He served in the Army as a sanitary technician in World War II, receiving the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and a Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alphone Hooper and Joe Hooper; and a sister, Bertha Hooper.
Survivors include a sister, Catherine Hooper-Smith of Vicksburg; a brother, Alfred Hooper of Detroit; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including members of the Gaines, Fountain, Jefferson and Hooper families of Vicksburg.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Virginia Lee Pace
Virginia Lee Pace died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.
Mrs. Pace was a native of Sarepta, La., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1969. She taught and substituted in home economics for 25 years in the Vicksburg Public Schools. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lazarus Lee Houston and Nova Mitchell Houston; and two sisters, Martha Ashworth and Thelma O’Glee.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Pace of Vicksburg; one son, Glenn Pace of Detroit; two daughters, Linda Trammell of Ridgeland and LeaAnn Bethany of Clinton; two sisters, Caroll Youngblood of Houston, Texas, and Mary Fielder of Shreveport, La.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Sibley and Macon Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cary Trammell, Chuck Bethany, Terry Ashworth, Gil Ashworth, Seth Vinson and Randy DeSoto.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Kathy Hunter Rivera
Kathy Hunter Rivera died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 48.
Born in Jackson, Ms. Rivera lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She was a 1976 graduate of Vicksburg High School and received certification as a licensed practical nurse from Mississippi College. She was employed at River Region Medical Center for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxie Ruth Hunter.
Survivors include her father, James L. Hunter of Lena; a sister, Shannon Hunter Oden of Vicksburg; two brothers, Tim Hunter and Clay Hunter, both of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Clifton Chandler of Vicksburg.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Solomon Eugene Wilson
UTICA – Solomon Eugene “Bo” Wilson died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 75.
Mr. Wilson was retired as a custodian from Hinds Community College’s Utica Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Beauty Bell Wilson of Utica; three daughters, Alice Wilson, Regina Wilson and Glendora Jones, all of Utica; and six sons, Arthur Wilson, Albert Wilson, Floyd Wilson, Melvin Wilson, Bernard Wilson and Amos Wilson, all of Utica.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Utica with Roy C. Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at New Chapel Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
