Michael Harmon Eidson

NOXAPATER – Michael Harmon Eidson died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. He was 49.

Mr. Eidson was a resident of Noxapater. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby N. Eidson, and a brother, Thomas Lamar Eidson.

He is survived by his father, Harmon Eidson of Noxapater; a sister, Cynthia Flowers of Vicksburg; cousins; and other relatives.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at John E. Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia with the Rev. John Stephens officiating. Burial followed at Noxapater Methodist Cemetery.

Lula Hydrick Gardner

ANGUILLA – Lula Hydrick Gardner died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Copiah Living Center in Crystal Springs. She was 99.

Mrs. Gardner lived in Anguilla for 53 years and had been a Crystal Springs resident for the past several years. She worked as a shipyard welder in Pascagoula during World War II.

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Anguilla.

She is survived by two sons, William H. Hydrick of Crystal Springs and Vaudy T. Hydrick of Greenville; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Franklin Eugene Hudson

Franklin Eugene (Frank) Hudson, age 66, passed away in Kirkuk, Iraq, on Dec. 4, 2005. Frank was born in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Finus E. and Mildred S. Hudson. Prior to attending college, he resided in Paris, Tenn. Frank graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in economics in 1961.

On Sept. 11, 1968, he was united in marriage to Nancy L. East in Vicksburg. Frank and his family were active members of the Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, where he taught the Grayson Sunday School class.

He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 39 years. He graduated from the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors Planning Associates Class of 1977. Frank served for 39 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserves, retiring with the rank of colonel with numerous meritorious service, commendation and achievement medals. He was a distinguished graduate of the Army War College in 1985.

Upon retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Frank began working for Parson Corporation. After working in California and Indiana, he held the position of Manager of Procurement and Contracts for the reconstruction of the northern Iraqi oilfields with the Parsons Iraq Joint Venture.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy East Hudson of Mandeville, La., and five children, Douglas Edward Hudson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Christopher Curtis Hudson of Madisonville, La., Benjamin Hugh Hudson of Valencia, Calif., Foster Eugene Hudson, currently stationed in Iraq, and Carmen Elizabeth Beane of Henry, Tenn. He is also survived by his brother, Richard S. (Bill) Hudson of Paris, Tenn., seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Casey East Trest, Bill East, Kevin East, Dennis East, David Haworth, Phillip Haskins, David Cornwell, Garnett Bedenbaugh and Tim Fritz. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Curtis, Lester Holt and Daniel Douglas.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at Glenwood Funeral Home, located at 145 U.S. Highway 80, with the Rev. Ed Hightower and Fred Grayson officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frank’s name to the United Heart Association or other charity of choice.
